There was a prompt released the other day in the Freewriters community, which asks that we write a story in 240 characters, using the word 'Rotten' as our inspiration.

I've never actually written a fantasy kind of story, and I figured I would give something like that a go.

The idea of doing something like that for a longer-form story would be great and I might give it a go.

The mighty king lumbered to his throne, the boards bending with his weight.

"I demand that this man be pelted!" His voice boomed. "Fool!"

The fool laboured with a box of rotten fruit, as a merry mob grabbed items to lob at the victim.

Excellent ! Definitely needs a full length story to tell us who the victim is, and what they did to offend the king. Sounds like a story involving Marv the Magnificent 😁

I'm going to get my thinking cap on and get something written for it, I think it could be a lot of fun, especially if I approached it with a bit of a tongue-and-cheek attitude.

I liked your one too, I probably would have mentioned Johnny Rotten in this had I not already read yours haha
