FACELESS

"Dad please don't leave me"
Please, Dad, stay with me
I'm here daddy
Please don't leave me

Mica cried holding her father's hands as the nurses rushed him to the Emergency room (ER)

Nurse; I'm sorry you will have to wait here while the doctors take care of your father, you don't have to worry, we will do our best to ensure he is alright.

The nurse said as she held Mica back while she pushed through to follow her dad into the ER.

Seeing the nurses wouldn't let her in, Mica tried to compose herself with her eyes filled with tears as she sat in the waiting area near the ER. She realized the need to compose herself after she looked around and saw others who were waiting for their loved ones to come out. It was clear everyone was panicking but no one was speaking out loud.

She looked and saw some sitting on the floor, and others standing as different nurses were injecting their arms. After a minute she realized more and more people were coming into the ER, and the waiting room was becoming crowded. Soon enough people started screaming out, it seemed they had lost a loved one. It was at this point fear gripped Mica as the thought of her Father dying was already unbearable for her.

Nurse; Hello madam, we will need to give you a dose of hydrocortisone injection for your heart and lungs due to the trauma you just experienced.

Mica; No no, there will be no need for that, I am pe..pe.. perfectly fine thank you.

But then it looked like it wasn't a request as she watched the nurse bring out the syringe for the injection. Before she could say jack another male nurse was holding her still for her to be injected

Mica; No no no, I said I am fine, there's no need for this… please stop stop stooooopppp.

Mica. Are you okay?

Mica rushes to hold Blake out of fear

Blake; it's okay, it's just us here. You had another nightmare, right?

Mica; No I'm fine it's nothing. Park your things we need to leave now, we still have a long way to go.

Black stares right into Mica's eyes in a bid to break her pretentious look, but she stares back instead

Mica; I've seen worse things than that look you are giving you know, if you are not ready to go, I can go on my own. I never said you should follow me in the first place.

Blake; why don't you give your father a chance, at least get to know him?

Mica cuts him short while he speaks

I don't need him
He wasn't there when he was needed
So he's not needed now
I can do very well on my own.
You are the father I know and..
If you are not ready to leave, then you can as well stay.

It's not the first time the people who claim to care end up abandoning me (she mummers)

Blake; Enough Mica, listen to me at least for a second before you make mistakes you will live to regret for the rest of your life. (Shouting)

Mica stands still from the movement she was already making and turns to Blake

Mica; what is it?

Blake; I have been with you every step of the way since you opened your eyes into this world 20 years ago.

I followed you when you decided to run away from your father, the dark one. I stayed with you in the woods because you think it's where your father won't find you. Not to talk about how I have been by your side ever since your mother died and you had to bear the loneliness of living without both parents from the age of 10. I took care of you even when you were being chased for the crimes of your father.

But there are things in this world that you do not know, and if you do not wait and listen to what your real father has to say, you will have to regret not knowing them for the rest of your life.

Mica Alria Eldorado…

A voice came out of the woods… After a moment of wondering who it was that was calling her, she finally saw a man come out of the woods covered in black from head to toe.

Fa.. Father…
How did you find me? (Exclaimed in fear)

You are my daughter, my blood runs through your veins, and I will always find you.

Mica; is that why you torment my dreams every night with nightmares of Blake's death? You know I will never ever accept you as my father.

Her father just stared at her as she raised her voice talking to him with tears rolling down her eyes.

Take off your mask Blake…

Blake removes his face, and Mica is shocked as she sees Blake's true face for the first time. No eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. Just holes one could see through on an empty skin

Mica could not believe her eyes, she almost fell but was able to catch herself after seeing the true face of the man she called father.

Eldorado; You call me a monster because of the things you have heard about me, whereas, I have a complete face compared to the one you call father.

I do not blame you if you see me by the mask others have put on me, I am sincerely sorry you had to go through all that you went through, but you needed to go through them because it was the only way to keep you alive.

The true monster was the woman you called mother. I'm sorry you had to see me kill her. In your eyes, I became a monster that night, but the truth is that your mother died at your birth at the hands of the one you called mother.

You have your mother's gift of site, that's why you see the things you see, they are glimpses of the future, and I'm quite certain they are becoming more frequent with you. I'm just here to teach you how to use those powers.

Eldorado takes a sit on a fallen tree as he exhale in pain

Mica; does this mean Blake is truly dying?
And who are those nurses I always see?

Eldorado; Dreams are parables and mysteries meant for you to unveil. But if you must know, yes your father is dying, but it is not Blake. And those nurses you see are the world you have created around you, and what they would do to you in your father's absence.

Mica; you are dying…

Eldorado; that's not important now. I became a King without a kingdom because a woman killed your real mother and caused me to the shadows where I become a poison in the realms of men. I have been on a quest to ensure I take my daughter out of the claws of that woman and all her counterparts for the last 20 years. It was hard to explain to you as a child because I was still in my shadow form, but now I am becoming more human by the day, I am also becoming mortal, and trading my life force for mortality as it is the only way to get you on the throne of your ancestors. There is a lot you need to know about your origin, and I must teach you quickly before I join my fathers.

THE END.

Interesting piece. I think it's the first time I'm reading a drama themed story here. And you did good with it.
Mica should listen to his father from the story I think he's not lieing.

Mica is strong headed, but I think she loves her father somehow in her own way

This is interesting and I wish it didn't just end there but I got lost in some lines as I tried to understand what was really meant.

Interesting story with different twists.
I guess I didn't understand it too well, perhaps its the cultural background that hinders me.. not too sure though.
Have a great week.
