This particular prompt is over, but I will still Love to talk about it despite missing the submission deadline due to unforseen circumstances. I remember back in the days, we never missed the 8:pm family series, which is followed by an awesome Philippine drama series. I wish those Philippine songs were in English, I can still remember how I would sing them as though I was from there. The one I sang the most was The Promise it was a thriller for me, as I can still remember how they advertised it, it was something like this;

Anthonia Beline Bonavista, a crew and manipulative woman whose only desire was to gain more wealth even at the expense of her own family. Eduardo Bonavista, the obedient, submissive son of Anthonia Beline who she always favored more than his older brother Diego. Time came when Eduardo fell madly in love with the very beautiful Amore, this was a love so pure such that Eduardo was willing to forego his wealth and family. But because of one terrible lie orchestrated by Athonia Beline, Eduardo burst a hole out of his heart, his soul, and his life. Lost and Devastated, he commits his life to the gorgeous and rich Chlodia whose wealth and help saved the Banavista's falling Empire. Poor Amore with Eduardo's child vowed vengeance on all those who oppressed her. Tragedy strikes and Amore never got to see how her young daughter burst in into a beautiful young woman Ina. Ina found herself working for the Banavistas as their housemaid, there she met the son of Eduardo and Choldia, the rebellious but Irresistible Angelo. Angelo and Ina fell madly in love with each other... (I have forgotten this line😂) Scared by a lost love and hunted with the memory of her lost daughter, the house-made Amore returned as a very successful and highly sophisticated Miss Powers with a heart full of revenge and hatred. One love traded by a Lie, another backed by a solid promise; a promise that at any end, it will still be the two of them together... And the song begins to play...

I would have written the lyrics if I could write in Philippino. The romance, the love story, and the thriller made this particular drama series worth it. It was released in 2002, but I watched it in 2005. I so much loved it that to date, I will still watch it over and over again. By the way, I don't like watching movies twice, but this is an exception.

For the likes of the Nigeria drama series Super Story, I still remember THE STAFF OF AUTHORITY being my favorite. The song was something like this.

CHORUS
The symbol of authority
The symbol of power
Who gets the staff rules
Will ones be called Lord

BRIDGE
The staff
Do you deserve the staff
Are you clean
Are you a prince
Then get the staff

From the song, you already have an idea what the storyline of the drama is all about, It was acted in a Yoruba village setting (although they spoke English) and it's one of the few movies I can't just forget in a hurry. I have other favorites like; SECOND CHANCE, and LOVE IS TIMELESS (by the same actors that stared in the promise) but just like The Promise, their songs are not in English...

I don't know about downloading them, but you should be able to get their thriller on YouTube.
Thanks again for stopping by my blog today, until next time.
