If I Were A Judge.

You can be one of the following things this weekend. What do you choose to be and why?
You can be one of the following things this weekend. What do you choose to be and why? Explain your answer in at least 400 words.
A caveman or cavegirl.
A video pornstar.
An Australian citizen.
An airline attendant.
A deployed soldier in wartime.
A supreme court judge.

I will choose being a judge, I know there are other enticing things to be but I'll try to tell you why I would choose being a judge.

Judges do a great job in our society. Thinking critically before you send someone to jail, prison sometimes to death isn't something that is easy to do. I admire that a lot. Although some are corrupt and judge based on the bribe they've been paid .

Generally, I think the role of a judge is to do justice according to the laws laid down in a particular country and no doubt they are really doing their job the best.

So in a case like the question asked by @galenkp today. And I get to be a judge. Here are some things I'd like to do. Fair warning, two of the things I'd like to change as a judge might sound crazy.

But there are some things which I want to change in the Nigerian Judicial system & laws. I know it's not really in the right of a judge to change some laws but still I would try.

First, I will address the case of one time offenders and that will be according to the level of your offence. If you are charged for a crime and I see that it is not a heavy one and probably was your first crime. I will try to see reasons why you did what you did. If the are fair reasons then I will give you a stern warning. But if you go ahead to do such again, then definitely you are going to jail.

I strongly believe cases like stealing foods was as a result of hunger on the part of the criminal. It is only a hungry man that goes about stealing food. So instead of sending such a person to jail over what must have been caused by the hardship in the land, I will pardon the person.

Okay as I said earlier two stuffs out of what I will do might sound crazy but then again it is a crazy weekend.

I will also try to make a law against deceit or cheating in relationships. Before you go in relationship you will have to sign a contract with your partner never to cheat, how long you intend to love the person, most especially what kind of relationship you will be going into. Will it be the open kinda relationship or closed 😂.

Then lastly there's this musician in my country that has always had his face covered right from time to time. He goes by the name Lagbaja. He always performs and attends functions always with a mask on. Oh how I have so dreamt and wished to see the face of the man behind the mask. So on an occasion I become a judge I'm going to make him remove his mask so I can see his face or risk jail 😂.

Hello friend, hunger in the streets are the object or competence of society, of the government, if you could somehow prevent that from happening, it would be ideal.

You surprise me with the contract in relationships to avoid cases of infidelity, I find it quite interesting, but we should also insist on what parents teach at home, and I imagine, is not the contract, but the payment of fines for committing the crime, and more if you have children to set an example, there is more expensive fine.

I was delighted to read your proposals as a judge.

Lolzzzz, can't stop laughing. Seriously this law can never be implemented. Nigerians won't accept it. Not only Nigeria, the whole world at large. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It made me laugh
