Is Kizz Daniel's Buga overrated?
Kizz Daniel formerly known as Kiss Daniel is a Nigerian afrobeat musician, songwriter and father of twin boys. He gained recognition after he released his hit songs Woju and Laye. Ever since he has gone on to dish out back to back good music. Recently there has been a trend all over the Nigerian social media space of him not having any bad songs and also he is among the top 5 Nigerian artiste. And that is so true.
Recently he released a song Buga featuring the sensational Tekno. Buga has received great accolades from Nigerians and has gained its place in the Nigerian and international music space. Topping charts and being the most shazamed song. With many making videos on TikTo, YouTube and Instagram with the song.
But as a big fan of Kizz Daniel I think Buga is one of his below par songs, judging from his long catalogue of tracks and his lyrical artistry. Yes the song has a nice beat ( of course it was produced by the legendary Tekno) and vibes but as a big fan that has been listening to Kizz songs for years now I feel this song it's below par.
Kizz Daniel doesn't just release good music, but songs with great lyrical delivery. Be it love songs or any other kind. His hit song Laye still gets me dancing up to this day. That's an evergreen song. Most times part of his lyrics goes on to be slang in Nigeria. But the present Buga song doesn't do it for me.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not writing Kizz off or not appreciating the hard work he has been putting in to give us nice songs. In fact no one does it for me like Kizz.
Buga does well as a great party song for the Nigerian parties. But to talk of lyrical content worthy to be a Kizz Daniel song it doesn't do it for me.
This is just a harmless critic from a fan.

It's a catchy tune though. And I think the message is that one should go low and be humble before they can raise their shoulders high in pride.
Really.
Here I was thinking the message was " all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" going by the lyrics you don work you don try, you suppose to dey fly. All the same nice tune.
I only heard the song once and I'm not really into afro but it got to me. However, It's just the beat for me.
The same here with me, just the beat. Though the songs is on my phone just but I hardly play it.
Understandable
Nope it's not. It makes sense. Good vibes.
Maybe to you it isn't. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I felt like a little more would have done the magic
It's overrated compared to his other hits
Thank you bro. Someone is actually thinking from my point of view.
Most chat topping songs hardly makes sense lyrically. And on the reverse most songs that makes sense lyrically hardly gets noticed. Afro beats is all about beats and rhythm.
