Hearing but not listening to God's word// Mcgi Topic Review

A lot of people hear God's word all the time maybe in church, during devotion, or through gospel songs but they don’t really take it to heart. Hearing is just the surface level; it’s passive. But listening goes deeper. It means paying attention, reflecting on what you’ve heard, and allowing it to speak to your life. When we only hear and don’t actually listen, we end up missing the point. We might recognize the message but never let it change us or guide us.

Listening to God’s word isn’t just about knowing the Bible; it’s about letting it shape how we live. It takes effort, quiet moments, and a real desire to grow. Life gets noisy and distracting, and sometimes we’re too busy to truly hear what God is trying to say. But when we slow down and really listen, that’s when our faith starts to grow stronger, and our relationship with God becomes more real and personal.

Wonderful reminder....It’s so true that there’s a big difference between just hearing and truly listening to God’s word. I’d love to hear what helps you personally to slow down and really listen? Maybe we can all share some ideas that strengthen our faith journey.

We shouldn't be hearers alone, of the word of God but doers also. It should shape our lifestyle.

Hearing and abiding by the word of God makes us more rooted in Him.
