Children into Social Media as influencers

There was a popular family whose husband and wife are both celebrities. They gave birth to a child, and just a few weeks later, they created a social media account for the child. At the announcement, the account hit a million followers. The account had no content yet, but it already had a million followers. One would ask: what made people follow the account when it was empty and belonged to a child whose account was being controlled by the parents? Anyway, I don't know what motivated people to follow the account. I don't fall for such things because I see no reason for parents to rush to create social media accounts for a child who isn't even a year old. I also blame the gullible people who followed the account. But that's the trend now, we can't help it.

I see the actions of the parents as exploitation and nothing more.

No lies, I know that the internet is one of the ways people make a good living these days through various activities on social media, and it is surely a good way to secure a substantial amount of money for children to cater to their education and other needs. However, the rate at which people are doing it these days is quite appalling.

The example I mentioned above is even acceptable because the parents are definitely going to control the account until the child reaches a certain age. However, there are some cases where children are allowed to have control of their own accounts. Even when the parents maintain control of the account, it can still be viewed as exploitation.

On the other hand, children being influencers can be a good way to bring out their potential. I have seen cases where children developed confidence in public speaking through their involvement in social media content. Now they're grown, it has become a part of their life, and crowds don't frighten them at all. Most times, these Children grow up mastering a good craft, and it becomes part of them and also makes a way for them when they're adults, with this, even though the parents were about making ends meet through the account, the career of the child is being built gradually.

There was one we had a few years back, Emmanuella by name, a very little girl at the time she came into the spotlight, who was known for her sharp comedic acts. She was brought up by a comedy group, although they have parted ways already. The girl is now an adult. She was well managed by the group, although there were also cases of exploitation. The girl was very young when she was dragged into social media.
The girl, now an adult, has millions of followers on her social media accounts, and she has bagged a lot of ambassadorial deals that are making waves for her.

So, if these accounts and contents are properly managed, and the child is adequately guided, there may not be any problem. However, it becomes a serious issue when the child is allowed to post inappropriate or weird content simply for the sake of making money.
