Nigeria government: Root of evil
From what I have seen so far, it is abnormal for the government of my country, as a whole entity, to publicly support evil in the land. But what can we say when a portion of the government or a top person in government does something bad that is heavily criticised, and the head of the government does not take action against such an act? It is then likened to the government in general being responsible for it. We have a lot of these acts going on in my country, where a person or a section of the government supports crime and nothing is done against such a person or group, and it has increasingly become a norm in the land.

Government sponsoring banditry, genocide, and kidnapping: It is no longer news that the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria is being sponsored by government officials. Everyone knows this, but nothing can be done because these people are holding power in the country.
There was a time this year when a group of kidnappers in the North were caught red-handed and arrested. The governor of the state ordered that the kidnappers be prosecuted, but do you know what happened? A superior power intervened, and the kidnappers were released. Does that not say that the people supporting the kidnappers are being backed by people in higher authority (government)? Yes, it does.
Every now and then, there are genocides, especially against Christians in the country, with the bandits involved boldly showing themselves in videos while the government remains calm and unwilling to take war action against them. The truth remains that these bandits are not acting alone; they have sponsors who are sitting in government positions, and that is the reason the government finds it hard to take action against them.
Some weeks ago, a heartbreaking evil occurred in a particular Catholic school in the northern part of Nigeria. Students were kidnapped, and some of the teachers were killed. It was said that just before the act was carried out, the security personnel deployed to the school were called off in order to ease the operation. Who ordered the withdrawal of the security? Can that come from just anybody? No. That is definitely the act of some people in government.
What about the mass killing of Christians, where bandits invade churches and start shooting sporadically?
In all of this, the government still claims that there is nothing like Christian genocide in the country.
Okay, fine. The U.S. government offered to help tackle the genocide issue in Nigeria by fighting the bandits, and the Nigerian government said hell no. This is because whatever the U.S. government would do would surely expose and affect those involved.
Okay, the craziest one, which I cannot forget in a hurry, was during the EndSARS protest in 2020, when the government carried out broad daylight genocide by shooting and killing peaceful protesters. Up till today, the government still denies involvement, even when everyone saw everything and videos were captured. Mehn, I hate the government we have.
Do you know the worst thing? When the incident happened, everyone vowed never to support the particular government that pioneered the genocide. But when the election came two years later, a lot of people had their minds washed, and they voted for the same government.
I hate politics!

Huhm, this is the raw truth.
We are in a country where those who are in power protect criminals openly, where they negotiate with terrorists and kidnappers. So heartbreaking to see we the ordinary Nigerians suffering from all of these.
I just hope we can be bold enough to stand up against the terrorist of a leader that we have and speak up.
Thanks for sharing.
