The French class
After a very good survey and researches, I've come to know that all French Teachers are "hardened". I mean they're very strong hearted with regards to how they handle their students.
During my seconday school days, SS2 to be precise, we were unfortunate to have the most deadly teachers in school as our french teacher. This man was in charge of disciplining later comers, students that didn't sweep, labour defaulters and also in charge of collecting tutorial fees from students, infact he's everywhere as long flogging is involved. He derives so much joy in flogging.
Something happened one day and it's an experience I don't forget...
We were having his lecture on how to read TIME/CLOCK 🕑 in French language. The teacher was trying his best to force the stubborn language into us but our heads were too strong to allow it.
The teacher is not the type that you can work away from his class, impossible! So we stayed composed and played along even when our body wanted to leave the class.
The class took over two hours and we didn't complained because we don't want to be flogged.
Suddenly, the bell for break rang and our mood changed Instantly because the teacher had overstayed but we dare not tell him to get away.
He noticed the frown on our faces and decided to let go of people that are tired of the class. He opened the door for anyone that want to leave, to go out and have break time.

When he did that, we were shocked because that was so unusual of him, so a lot of us decided not to stay put because it might be a trap to punish people that would go out.

Some of the big boys in class took the offer and left the class while we, the 'chicken hearted' stayed to continue with the lecture.
We were inside the class but our minds were outside, the groove of fellow students outside enjoying the break moment were just too catchy.
Towards the end of the lecture, the teacher gave us a class work to test us if we got what he's been teaching for hours, we did the class work and we all failed. I mean, we failed woefully.
The teacher got angry, he entered his office and brought out logs of his imported cane. He gave us 5strokes each on our back and some of us cried...I didn't cried😂.

Meanwhile, when he was flogging us, the noise attracted the whole students in that environment and they all came to watch us,,, including our classmates that earlier left us. They all laughed at us.

Ever since then, I decided not to be a serious student again in terms of pleasing a teacher or a lecturer. Being good no dey pay.

Hahaha, I loved French back then but I wasn't good at it. My teacher was a woman and she was quite understanding sha. I will never leave a class that a teacher is in oo, I don't want unnecessary consequences. Though your case happens to be different, it's a shame you guys stayed behind 😅😅.
All of you would have left the class in unity, haha, your teacher would have resigned from being a teacher 😂😂.

That your French teacher must be a special breed. All the French teachers I've seen were "baked" from the other world 🙈.
What that teacher did that day made me to admire people that know how to read minds. No one undestood him that day and I'm sure those people that left used strong mind to leave, but just look at us😂.

Hahaha.. this is such a terrible experience and i dont know why the teacher would do such a thing.
In my former school we know our rights and we stood by it 😆 we will boldly tell you that your time is up and our time is now if you like go and report to the school authority they will even support us because its true 😆

French class is my worst class back in secondary school i dont know why maybe its due to how impossible it was fir me to learn it. And i wonder what if we had Spanish class too.😂

God answered my prayer during higher institution. A lot of the department has French as a make up course and we were lucky to have Physical Education.
My roommate had French as one of his course and it was hell for him. They made them to buy french Oxford dictionary...big one ooo!😂
You just reminded me that i also had this and i still have it up till now its still looking brand new like i just bought it yesterday because i dont use em😂

French is always a hard course for those who find it hard, too bad... I loved the course then and I did get a good score on it.
But up till now, I still don't know what I used that knowledge for 😏

This reminds me my French teacher Mr Paul I did not like the teacher even his subject I did not know it, but the only thing I use to do is to sleep in his class lolz.
Sleeping in French class wasn't Normal for us because a sweet cane will land on the back of whatsoever that dares to sleep😂😂. French class wasn't funny at all.

It's really funny 😃😃😃, in my own school it's the intro-tech teacher that behaves like that in those days I mean 1990s, the man can flogged the devil out of us but then I have a friend who is so stubborn, whenever the man enters the class my friend will jump out through the window because there's no how the man will not flog us before he leaves the class.
