Monomad challenge entry #133: Highlife!

Before it happened, I used to think shooting everyday was a big flex. I mean shooting everyday signifies that loads of people need your services, and that's a good feeling. The con of shooting everyday is ruthless though. I've had my experience, and I'll tell you straight up that it's unhealthy.

Since the 13th of this month, I've literally created photos everyday until Sunday this week. That's over a week of shooting. My body broke down; rightly so. I'm feeling better now though, and I'm able to share here.

Just before I engaged in the marathon shooting, I had one day(or night) of utmost fun. It was a music show, headlined by one of my favourite Nigerian musicians. A band actually. They are called "The Cavemen". Their genre of music cuts across "Igbo highlife", mixed with a bit of alté vibes. And they are so good with it.

Igbo highlife is sub-genre of highlife music. It was mostly prevalent in the 60s. I picked up on some as a kid, and I found the sound interesting, but not something I'll consume regularly. However, these guys brought it back, revamped it, and gave it a new image. For a genre of music considered to be for older people, you'll be amazed to find more young people consuming music by The Cavemen.

They've been on tour this month, and luckily Portharcourt(where I stay) was in the list of cities they'll be performing at. And they did come, and the experience was amazing. It's the first show I've ever attended in my entire life. I threw my "introvertedness" aside and attended. I'm glad I did.

It was such an amazing concert, and I didn't fail to get photos too. I failed to get into good positions as the place was packed, but I got good photos regardless.

I'll be sharing the monochrome variants first, because I feel black and white photos are perfect for concert photos. Check them out;
