¡Holaa amigos de Sketchbook! Les traigo mi más reciente ilustración, Es otra de mis prácticas en donde quería expresar esa sensación de calma y paz que suelen dar los días lluviosos, siendo una de mis cosas favoritas, disfrutar de estos tomando algo caliente mientras veo la tele o escucho música o dibujo.

Comencé con el boceto de un personaje calmado tomando su taza, agregando elementos como lentes y el cabello recogido con una cola de caballo y ropa cómoda, para darle un toque hogareño.

Hello friends of Sketchbook! I bring you my most recent illustration, It is another of my practices where I wanted to express that feeling of calm and peace that rainy days usually give, being one of my favorite things, enjoy these taking something hot while watching TV or listening to music or drawing.

I started with the sketch of a calm character drinking his cup, adding elements such as glasses and hair in a ponytail and comfortable clothes, to give it a homey touch.

Como siempre, cree un par de capas debajo del boceto para agregar los colores, uno para el cabello, lentes, otro para la piel y ropa y el ultimo el fondo. Luego ajuste los tonos del boceto para que correspondiera a cada parte del cuerpo y fusione las capas manteniendo esa separación entre las 4 para facilitar el proceso de pintado.

Desde allí comencé el coloreado y renderizado de la pieza, quería tonos suaves tipo pastel, así que no busque mucha saturación ni contraste al principio y siempre equilibrando tonos cálidos sobre fríos.

As always, create a couple of layers under the sketch to add the colors, one for the hair, glasses, another for the skin and clothes and the last one for the background. Then I adjusted the tones of the sketch to correspond to each part of the body and merged the layers keeping that separation between the 4 to facilitate the painting process.

From there I started the coloring and rendering of the piece, I wanted soft pastel tones, so I didn't look for much saturation or contrast at the beginning and always balancing warm tones over cold ones.

Ya con el personaje principal, casi definido en su totalidad, comencé a pulir el fondo, que es algo simple, pero funciona, una ventana que da vista a una especie de jardín donde se puede ver la lluvia, ya teniendo el marco de la ventana listo, empece a pintar la vista del jardín con lo que sería el cielo y el césped con tonos apagados para simular la poca iluminación de días lluviosos.

Luego duplique la capa y le agregue un filtro de blur y borre unas partes para que apareciera la capa sin blur y darle un efecto de cristales mojados y en una capa superior le agregue gotas de lluvia para afianzar dicho efecto. Ya satisfecho, pulí detalles, agregué más sombras para contraste y este es el resultado.

Already with the main character, almost defined in its entirety, I began to polish the background, which is something simple, but it works, a window that overlooks a kind of garden where you can see the rain, already having the window frame ready, I began to paint the view of the garden with what would be the sky and the grass with muted tones to simulate the low illumination of rainy days.

Then I duplicated the layer and added a blur filter and erased some parts to make the layer appear without blur and give an effect of wet crystals and in a top layer I added raindrops to reinforce the effect. Once satisfied, I polished details, added more shadows for contrast and this is the result.
