Weekly Battle Challenge: A Sneaky Duo
Hello fellow TCG enthusiasts!
With this week's battle challenge we finished the splinter rounds wrapping with Neutral. Elven Cutthroat is an interesting card and to be honest, I'm surprised it isn't Earth.
If this is the first you are hearing of the Splinterlands 'Share Your Battle!' challenge, check out the official rules and guidelines in this post. Now lets get into this week's challenge.
Card Overview - Elven Cutthroat
Elven Cutthroat is a very simple card. She only has sneak at lvl 1 and does not gain further skills as she gets stronger. Knowing this I'd suspect she doesn't see higher league gameplay given skills become highly critical.Battle Prep and Thoughts
Given Cutthroat is a fast sneak card I was looking to find a an opponent that tends to not play sneak protection and then pair her with another sneak attacker for that one two punch. The Winning Combo
For my winning fight I found a player that played dragon constantly with Chwala up front often leaving the backline open. This was a very low mana fight so I figured I could put Mustang up front to soak enough dmg for my sneak duo to eat the backline and use magic to eat through Chwala avoiding thorns.
There was a Firefight!

Round 1
When my opponent's cards came out I felt great. Chwala was there as expected, they used a 4* summoner which ate into the already limited mana count, and all of the backline damage was magic which Mustang does well against. Round one was a piece of cake with my duo sneak quickly taking light elemental to 1 hp.
Round 2
Round 2 was really just a mop up finishing off Chwala and soaking their magic damage. Even had my Mustang died I still would have been able to get through Renova's health.
Round 3
Round 3 was clearly in my favor. Simply put Renova didn't have enough damage to chew through my line before death. Open shut, victory! That's a Wrap
What I'd like to focus on here is actually less on the battle challenge itself and more on reading your opponent. It is soo critical to get an idea of what your opponent is likely to play so you can attempt to counter. In this case, the match more or less fell right into my lap.Post Tax
I'll never understand Nobu's desire to sit in that top section. He literally doesn't fit in there and just spills over the edges. It can't possibly be comfortable right?
