Hello everyone, it's time for another thrilling BATTLE MAGE CHALLENGE! This week's challenge features the ruleset of BROKEN ARROW, which happens to be one of my personal favorites. The game was intense and nail-biting which had me on the edge of my seat. I hope you enjoy reading about my experience as much as I enjoyed playing it!

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK

RULESETS OF THE GAME

All Monsters have the Scattershot ability.

Attacks always hit their target.

Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.

For this game, I devised a strategic approach by carefully selecting monsters that would not be impacted by the SCATTERSHOT ruleset, including SNEAK and OPPORTUNITY monsters, and further boosting their offensive capabilities by choosing a monster with the INSPIRE ability. Additionally, to bolster my lineup against both physical and magical damage, I ensured I had a secondary tank with ample resistance against magic attacks.

SUMMONER

KELYA FRENDUL. As the summoner of my choice, her unique ability to enhance my monsters' speed and bolster their defense with +1 armor for each of them provides a significant boost to both their offensive and defensive capabilities, making her an invaluable asset in battle.

TANKS

DIEMONSHARK is a great tank within this lineup because of his amazing basic stats which makes him a great defensive and offensive monster.

DJINN OSHANNUS. This monster not only boasts resilience against enemy magic attacks, but also possesses impressive speed and HP, allowing it to withstand both magical and physical damage monsters with equal fortitude.

DAMAGE DEALERS

PELACOR BANDIT, is one of the duo for my SNEAK monsters his speed makes him the first SNEAK to damage the enemy.

URAEUS is my second SNEAK monster in my lineup and he will be the finisher while my PELACOR BANDIT is the initial damage.

DEEPLURKER, is my main damage dealer with his 4 SPEED & 4 MELEE DAMAGE he will be able to finish off monsters quickly before they can even take their turn.

SUPPORT MONSTER

RIVER HELONDALE, is the lone support in this lineup. Similar with my summoner KELYA, this monster will be increasing my offense and defense by resurrecting a single monster and at the same time increasing all the melee damage of my monsters.

Both sides have opted for melee lineups. The enemy has taken a more aggressive approach, fielding 3 monsters with the OPPORTUNITY ability, while I've countered with two SNEAK monsters and a single OPPORTUNITY monster. The ultimate victor of this showdown will be determined by which of us boasts superior OFFENSE capabilities.

ROUND 1

My URAEUS died twice in the first round and my RIVER HELONDALE is almost dead. The enemy triple OPPORTUNITY monsters were very effective along with the RUST from his monster which made my monsters vulnerable to physical damage.

ROUND 2 & 3

In the second round, I lost my RIVER HELONDALE, but managed to vanquish one of his monsters at long last. Then, in the third round, my DIEMONSHARK delivered the final blow to his formidable main tank, OSHANNUS which cast his STAMPEDE ability which again removed the armor of his TIDE BITER, leveling the playing field to a 3v3.

ROUND 4 - 8

In the fourth round, I finally managed to defeat his resilient NOA THE JUST, which not only restored my monsters' ARMOR, but also tipped the scales in my favor with a numerical advantage. With this advantage, I narrowly secured a hard-fought victory in the game.

AFTERTHOUGHTS

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this ruleset as I'm not particularly fond of RANGE MONSTERS due to their vulnerability against SNEAK & OPPORTUNITY monsters, along with their tendency to miss shots frequently, making them unreliable in my opinion.

The game was a nail-biting battle, with me ultimately winning with only one monster remaining on the field. The enemy had a formidable lineup that complemented each other, and their NOA THE JUST ability RUST proved to be a game changer, rendering my monsters vulnerable against their OPPORTUNITY monsters, resulting in the loss of several of my own monsters.
