UNLEASHING THE DJINN - BATTLE MAGE SECRETS CHALLENGE

Hello everyone, it's time for another Battle Mage Challenge in Splinterlands, and I'm excited to share that this week's ruleset, MAGIC REFLECT, happens to be one of my personal favorites. For this challenge, I'll be using an ALT account with cards delegated by the NYFTY deck. Sit back and watch as I surprise my enemy with my strategic gameplay in this exciting ruleset. I hope you enjoy!"

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK

RULESETS OF THE GAME

Briar Patch
All Monsters have the Thorns ability.

Ferocity
All Monsters have the Fury ability.

Counterspell
All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.

To maximize my chances in this three ruleset challenge, I'd recommend opting for range monsters since both magic and melee monsters suffer return damage when it's their turn to strike. However, due to limited monster options, I need to choose a summoner that can counter the THORNS ruleset, and select a high-damage melee monster to eliminate enemy monsters. Additionally, a magic monster with VOID ability can help me surprise the opponent and neutralize the COUNTERSPELL ruleset, while a support monster can bolster both my defense and offense.

SUMMONER

"KELYA FRENDUL" would be the ideal summoner for my team since his ability to provide +1 armor to my monsters will help negate some of the damage from the "THORNS" ruleset, and shield my monsters from any attacks by PHYSICAL DAMAGE monsters.

TANKS

DIEMONSHARK is the first position monster and one of the main tanks, his basic stats make him one of the most powerful rare monsters in the game and he can both be an offensive and defensive juggernaut.

"FLYING SQUID" is yet another tank in my lineup, serving a similar purpose as "DIEMONSHARK." However, its REACH ability enables it to deal damage from the second position, making it an excellent complement to "DIEMONSHARK."

"DJINN OSHANNUS" is my primary tank against MAGIC monsters, owing to its impressive defensive abilities, including VOID and PHASE, along with its high HP. This monster is sure to catch the enemy off-guard, as they may not expect to face a magic monster with the MAGIC REFLECT ruleset in play.

"WAVE BROOD" assumes the role of the primary tank in my lineup, absorbing the brunt of the enemy's attacks and providing valuable time for my damage dealers to eliminate the opposition.

MAIN DAMAGE DEALER

Despite the THORNS ruleset, DEEPLURKER will undoubtedly prove to be a valuable addition to my lineup, capable of swiftly eliminating weaker monsters before it eventually succumbs to return damage.

SUPPORT MONSTER

Though the only support monster in my lineup, RIVER HELLONDALE plays a critical role, serving as a core member. With two key abilities, this monster will help pave the way to victory: its INSPIRE ability enables my melee monsters to deal more damage, while its RESURRECT ability provides my damage dealers with additional time to inflict more damage.

In another thrilling KELYA vs KELYA battle, I opted for a more aggressive lineup, selecting monsters with high damage and speed. In contrast, my opponent chose a more balanced lineup, consisting of monsters with both defensive and offensive abilities.

Battle Link Here

ROUND 1

Despite the RUST ability of his NOA THE JUST, which left my monsters vulnerable to physical damage, my opponent had two idle monsters in the first round, whereas all of my monsters were dealing damage. As a result, I gained an advantage and was able to eliminate his DIEMONSHARK in the first round, although I did lose my WAR BROOD. Fortunately, my RIVER HELLONDALE revived it, granting me a numerical advantage.

ROUND 2

Just like in the first round, I managed to eliminate his first position monster. However, this time my opponent managed to take down two of my monsters, putting me at a numerical disadvantage. Despite this setback, I was able to eliminate two of his main tanks, leaving his remaining monsters more vulnerable.

ROUND 3 & 4

During the third round, I successfully took down his NOAH THE JUST. This allowed my monsters' armor to regenerate, boosting their defensive capabilities. With their increased durability, my monsters were able to survive longer in the fourth round. However, despite this advantage, the enemy still had the numerical upper hand in the end.

ROUND 5 - 8

In the fifth round, I managed to defeat his KULU MASTERMIND, but at the cost of losing my DIEMONSHARK. Then, in the sixth round, I successfully eliminated his DEEPLURKER, leaving him with only a range monster in the first position. Finally, my DJINN OSHANNUS took care of the remaining enemy monster and secured my victory.

AFTERTHOUGHTS

Despite having a significant level advantage, the game was still a close match due to our lineups, and I believe that if our card levels were equal, I would have lost. This demonstrates that having higher level cards does not guarantee victory. However, in the end, I was still able to win the game. I attribute my victory to my unexpected choice of a magic monster, which rendered my opponent's high armor lineup useless. Specifically, my DJINN OSHANNUS played a pivotal role in securing my win.
