Prepare equipment for making kathong (Banana leave vessel decorated buoyant) in the morning.
Hello everyone. Tomorrow, November 8, is the day of Loy Katong Festival of Thailand. This morning my wife and I, we took the kids to school as usual. Our son and granddaughter's teacher asked the children to prepare the tools to make a krathong tomorrow, and teacher of kids will let the kids help each other make a Krathong tomorrow too.
When we finished taking the kids to school. We go home immediately to prepare the kids's kathong making equipment for tomorrow's kathong making. The equipment used for making krathongs for the kids tomorrow are banana trees, banana leaves, stems of banana leaves, flowers, pandan leaves, incense sticks and candles.
We grow many bananas in the land around house and at our longan orchard. We selected one banana tree from the banana trees that were planted in the land around the house. By selecting banana trees that are old, bear fruit and able to pick bananas. After that, we use a knife to slice the banana tree and cut out the trunk, banana leaf, stem of banana leaf. As a equipment for making krathongs for kids, and bananas wait until they ripen yellow and then eat.

In the evening, me and my wife took my granddaughter to collect flowers and pandan leaves. Because the flowers and pandan leaves, if we pick them up in the morning, the flowers and pandan leaves will wither before tomorrow. So we have to pick them in the evening. By flowers we pick at our longan orchard. But the pandan leaves we pick at the house of our wife's relatives near our longan orchard. After picking the equipment for crafting Krathong finished. We gathered them in one place to prepare to bring the kathong crafting equipment go to our son and granddaughter's school tomorrow.

A rare opportunity to see the man usually behind the camera 😉. We are growing several different fruit trees at the moment, but they are all only saplings, and it will be several years before we see any fruit. We don't have any longan trees, but it is one of my favorite fruits.
