Travel to Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand, Part 9 : Visit Wat Huaimuang.

Hello everyone. This post, I share a temple from my trip to Mae Ai District last month. Last month my wife and I traveled to Mae Ai District and visited many temples. And I have shared many temples from this trip in other posts. This post is a small rural temple in this district. This temple is called Wat Huaimuang. Before I take everyone to see the atmosphere of the temple. Let me tell you the interesting brief history of the temple first.
Wat Huaimuang's original name was Wat San Ton Pao. The reason why this temple was named Wat San Ton Pao in the past was because there were many burmese sals. Northern Thai people call this kind of tree : Ton Pao. And changed the name from Wat San Ton Pao to Wat Huaimuang. Because the name of the temple was changed to the same name as the village until now.
Wat Huaimuang is not an old temple. This temple was built in AD 1941 or 83 years ago. And later in AD 2015 or 9 years ago, so the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.

Right now, there are many rice fields in front of the temple. And this area will be surrounded by mountains. When we arrived at the temple, We see rice seedlings in the rice fields. But unfortunately there was smog, so I couldn't see the scenery in that area clearly.

The entrance to the temple has no arch. There was only an open iron door and two lion statues on the pillars of the wall between the entrances.

The temple's sign is simple, made of bricks coated with cement. And the temple sign is decorated with the resemblance of 5 spirit houses too.

The only sacred architecture of the temple in the area that is not in the section containing the monks' living quarters is the buddha image hall (viharn). The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple is smaller than the buddha image hall (viharn) of other temples we have visited.
This buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks coated with cement. Decorated with gold color stucco patterns on the front, doors and windows of the buddha image hall (viharn). And the entrance stairs to this buddha image hall (viharn) are serpent stairs.

The temple area is mostly a large courtyard and lawn. And in the temple's outdoor courtyard and lawn, there are bell towers and many buddha images.

The rest is section containing the monks' living quarters, Which I didn't take pictures. These are the stories and photos of Wat Huaimuang that I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

🌏 Wat Huaimuang is located in Huaimuang Village, Mae Na Wang Subdistrict, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

A beautiful field, if we walk through it, it feels strange by the smell of growing rice.
