(ENG-ESP) Exquisite beef with ripe plantain, carrots and potatoes
Good evening friends, I wish you a happy weekend.... Today, I will share with you the exquisite lunch I enjoyed with my family, I will explain in an easy and simple way how to prepare a delicious "meat with ripe plantain, carrots and potatoes". This dish is VERY versatile, you can complement it with an infinite number of toppings, on this occasion we accompanied it with mashed potatoes and mixed salad... Let's put on the apron!
Buenas noches amigos, les deseo un feliz fin de semana... Hoy, compartiré con ustedes el exquisito almuerzo que disfruté en compañía de mi familia, les explicaré de forma fácil y sencilla como preparar una deliciosa "carne con plátano maduro, zanahoria y patatas". Éste platillo es MUY versátil, lo pueden complementar con infinidad de contornos, en ésta ocasión lo acompañamos con puré y ensalada mixta... Pongámonos el delantal!
- To make this recipe I used 600 grams of stewing meat. Cook over medium-high heat for approximately 1 hour or until it is tender.
- Para realizar ésta receta utilicé 600 gr de carne para guisar. Cocinamos a fuego "medio-alto" aproximadamente durante 1 hora o hasta comprobar que se ablandó.
- You can either use the meat in cubes or trimmed, this last option was my choice... We reserve our appetizing "carne desmechada" to use in the final step.
- Pueden utilizar la carne en cubos o desmechar, ésta última opción fue mi elección... Reservamos nuestra apetitosa "carne desmechada" para utilizar en el paso final.
- We will use: onion, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes and ripe plantain.
- Utilizaremos: cebolla, tomate, calabacín, patatas y plátano maduro.
- Fry the onion over medium heat, season with salt and pepper.
- Sofreímos a fuego "medio" la cebolla, salpimentamos.
- Add the "carrot" along with the reserved meat, to enjoy a VERY tasty flavor, add 1 cup of broth, I suggest you use the broth where you cooked the meat.
- Añadimos la "zanahoria" junto con la carne que teníamos reservada, para disfrutar de un sabor MUY sabroso, agregaremos 1 taza de caldo, les sugiero utilizar el caldo donde cocinaron la carne.

- Incorporamos nuestros cubos de tomate...
- In this step: place the "potatoes" together with the "zucchini". Cook until they have acquired a "semi-soft" consistency. Season with: garlic powder, pepper, cumin and salt to taste.
- En éste paso: colocamos las "patatas" junto con el "calabacín". Cocinamos hasta que hayan adquirido una consistencia "semi-blanda". Aliñamos con: ajo en polvo, pimienta, comino y sal al gusto.
- Next, we add our "star" ingredient, which will provide a wonderful sweet contrast... Add the "banana" cut in "semi-thick" slices, to prevent it from breaking during the cooking process. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until it is ready.
- A continuación, agregamos nuestro ingrediente "estrella", el que aportará un maravilloso contraste dulzón... Integramos el "plátano" cortado en ruedas "semi-gruesas", para así evitar que se rompa durante el proceso de cocción. Tapamos y cocinamos durante 15 minutos o hasta comprobar que está listo.
