Good evening dear Hivers, I hope you had a fantastic Saturday.... Today, I will share with you the exquisite dish I prepared for dinner, it is a VERY healthy and nutritious recipe, which provides many benefits and properties. I will explain "step by step" how to prepare delicious "chard rolls stuffed with rice and vegetables". I hope you enjoy the process and are encouraged to make this delicacy!

Buenas noches queridos Hivers, espero que hayan pasado un fantástico sábado... Hoy, compartiré con ustedes el exquisito platillo que preparé para cenar, es una receta MUY saludable y nutritiva que aporta infinidad de beneficios y propiedades. Les explicaré "paso a paso" como elaborar unos deliciosos "rollitos de acelga rellenos con arroz y vegetales". Espero que disfruten el proceso y se animen a realizar ésta exquisitez!

  • To make this recipe I used the following ingredients: 1 small carrot, 1/2 red bell pepper, 2 scallions, 1 clove of garlic, 1 stalk of celery, 8 capers, 1 cup of rice (cooked), 4 chard leaves.
  • Para realizar ésta receta utilicé los siguientes ingredientes: 1 zanahoria pequeña, 1/2 pimiento rojo, 2 cebollines, 1 diente de ajo, 1 tallo de célery, 8 alcaparras, 1 taza de arroz (cocida), 4 hojas de acelgas.

  • Fry the garlic clove (finely chopped) together with the "red" bell pepper cut in VERY small cubes.
  • Sofreímos el diente de ajo (finamente cortado) junto con el pimiento "rojo" cortado en cubos MUY pequeños.

  • Add the grated carrot, cook over medium heat for 2 minutes, if you want a softer texture you can cook until it softens, I particularly love to feel its crunchy texture.
  • Añadimos la zanahoria rallada, cocinamos a fuego "medio" durante 2 minutos, si desean una textura más suave pueden cocinar hasta que se ablande, particularmente me encanta sentir su textura crujiente.

  • Add a touch of soy sauce to the rice, mix until well integrated... Add the scallion along with the rice, sauté over medium-low heat.
  • Añadimos un toque de salsa de soja al arroz, mezclamos hasta integrar bien... Incorporamos el cebollín junto con el arroz, salteamos a fuego "medio-bajo".

  • Add the celery (leaves and stems), mix and turn off. Reserve for use in the final step.
  • Agregamos el célery (hojas y tallos), mezclamos y apagamos. Reservamos para utilizar en el paso final.

  • Add enough water to a deep pot, when it comes to a boil add the chard leaves, cook for 1 minute, enough time for them to soften a little. Strain and immediately reserve in the refrigerator. I suggest NOT adding salt to the water.
  • Agregamos suficiente agua a una olla honda, cuando rompa el hervor colocamos las hojas de acelga, cocinamos durante 1 minuto, tiempo suficiente para que se ablanden un poco. Colamos y enseguida reservamos en la nevera. Les sugiero NO añadir sal al agua.

  • Spread the first sheet of chard on a flat plate, place a portion of rice 2-3 heaping tablespoons, in this step we integrate the capers cut in half. To proceed to close the leaf, first fold the tip and close the ends towards the center, then roll up exerting a little pressure. Add a touch of olive oil to a non-stick frying pan, fry over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
  • Extendemos la primera hoja de acelga en un plato llano, colocamos una porción de arroz 2-3 cucharadas colmadas, en éste paso integramos las alcaparras cortadas por la mitad. Para proceder a cerrar la hoja, doblamos primero la punta y cerramos hacia el centro los extremos, luego enrollamos ejerciendo un poquito de presión. Añadimos un toque de aceite de oliva a un sartén antiadherente, sofreímos a fuego "medio", hasta que se dore por ambos lados.
