Good evening hivers, already today is the last day of 2023, when I look back I am very happy to know that I was able to share with you my personal experiences to the fantastic proposals that every weekend our friend @galenkp proposed us. Below I share with you my last answer of this year, I wish you all a Happy New Year!
How are you celebrating the end of 2023 and bringing in the new year on Sunday night?
I will celebrate the last year doing the things we love the most. The first thing will be to prepare the drinks with which we will toast waiting for the arrival of the New Year, this time my daughter and I decided to use part of our savings to buy my mom a good 18 years old whiskey, as this has always been her favorite drink, it will be a great surprise for her, as she is not expecting it. We got organized early in the morning preparing a good set of music, we chose our favorite songs, of course we will sing and dance as we always do. We have a beautiful tradition to say goodbye to the old year and is to make a letter where we thank for all the wishes fulfilled and take the opportunity to make requests for 2024, we place scented candles and light incense, the house is impregnated with a very pleasant smell, this year the essence of cinnamon and myrrh will be the protagonists.
To make our celebration last until dawn, we will enjoy playing cards and of course a game of dominoes. We plan to go down to the beach after midnight, taking advantage that my daughter lives very close to the beach, they told us that there will be fireworks and it will be more beautiful to enjoy it near the shore, I never imagined that the Universe would give me the surprise of being able to receive the New Year near the sea, I feel immensely grateful for this great blessing!
Early in the morning I cooked several dishes to snack on before the New Year's Eve dinner, of course our dinner consists of the traditional hallacas, spicy rolls, delicious ham bread and chicken salad. For dessert I prepared chocolate marquise and passion fruit pudding.
We have some rituals that bring good luck, we have not yet verified if they are real, but we really enjoy doing them haha one of them is to leave the house with a suitcase, according to what they say when you do this you will expect a year with many trips, another is rubbing your hands with rice and cinnamon powder, so that abundance is never lacking in your life. There are many rituals, but the one that can never be missed is one that I really enjoy, since people who know me know that I love to cook, after midnight the first dish that should be eaten is lentil soup, from early I prepared some exquisite lentils that are already ready in the pot to serve after New Year's Eve. According to this tradition, doing so will bring a lot of prosperity to our lives. It is a family tradition that has always been carried out. I feel great joy running out into the street with the lentils. suitcases, hoping that 2024 will be abundant in travel. It is a custom that my family enjoys doing, I love when we live life without rules or parameters, nothing is written, we are the ones who write our story and the protagonists to achieve a happy life and make this trip the best!
