WEEKEND -ENGAGEMENT 145: The romantic you

image.png

Good evening dear hivers, today I find myself again participating in the magnificent proposal of our friend @galenkp Among all the topics I thought it was great to share with you my experience regarding the following question:

What is the most romantic thing you have ever done for someone. Who was it, what did you do and how was it received?

In my last relationship, after 5 years of relationship my boyfriend proposed to me, but with the condition that I had to wait 1 year, since he was moving to Spain to look for economic and work stability. When I heard his condition I was completely opposed, I ended the relationship to pressure him and convince him that the best option for us was to try it in Venezuela, my surprise was that he did not let my position influence him and told me that he would decide for the good of both of us, that he was sure that if our relationship was solid I would travel when he told me. For a moment I thought it was a joke, but a month later while we were having dinner in one of my favorite restaurants overlooking the Avila, he showed me the ticket to travel to Spain.

He gave me in a small gift box a very simple silver ring with one of my favorite stones, the agatha, we had found that stone on our first trip to La Gran Sabana and it had a lot of sentimental value for us, since he had told me that the day he asked me to marry him he would have a ring made with that stone. After dinner he gave me the ring and asked me to marry him but in Spain when he would let me know that it was convenient for me to travel. I accepted the ring, but I did not accept to travel to Spain and I maintained my position of ending the relationship, since it was a decision that I considered very drastic.

The first months in Spain were spent at her aunts' house and she started with a job where what she earned monthly was only enough to help with the market and monthly expenses, but not enough to be able to save in order to build a future for us. He assured me that he would send me the ticket as a gift and that he would be able to rent a space for us, but the months passed and he was stuck in a job. At that time I was working as a saleswoman for a company of hospital instruments, as a gift from the Universe I managed to make a very large sale that generated me great profits, it was enough to buy the ticket to Spain, even though I had put an end to the relationship, my feelings were still intact.

Without my partner knowing the decision I had made to agree to live with him in Spain, I phoned his aunts and asked them for the exact address where they lived, I also asked them to please keep my surprise a secret. When I got to his aunts' house, my partner was still doing his workday. I took a photo of myself in the kitchen so that when he received it on his cell phone he would identify that I was waiting for him at home and I put the ring on as a positive response to his marriage proposal.

With my savings we were able to rent an apartment in a central area and as a gift from the Universe I found a good job as a salesperson and my partner got a promotion at work, generating a monthly payment in which we could pay all the expenses and gave us the possibility to save.

I say goodbye leaving a reflection: When love is genuine and sincere, the Universe conspires in favor so that the magic of love continues.

It is a beautiful love story, I shared with my husband the best years of my life and I knew the happiness that love produces when you are reciprocated in the same way, but unfortunately he was infected with Covid and although he fought to the end he could not win the battle and died.

That's such an incredible thing you did for your husband. He would have been stunned at work on seeing the photos of you in Spain, and then be so eager to come home to you. It's a beautiful thing you did.

Have you guys visited Venezuela since then?

That was the gift of love that I gave her, it was a way of thanking life for having found happiness in a person. We lived for many years in Spain, first in Seville and then in Cadiz. Unfortunately my husband got sick with Covid and although he fought every day to survive the disease won the battle, he died 2 months after he was infected. I now live in Venezuela with my family.
Big hug! @olujay

It was a big surprise for him, he never imagined that I would leave everything to go live with him. Undoubtedly love is a feeling that transforms us into brave people, we are able to cross great oceans to enjoy this wonderful magic. They were many years of constant happiness, I am very grateful to God who wrote that love story for me.
Thank you very much for your support, a hug! @leidimarc

For a moment I thought that maybe when I made the decision he would not be there, but when fate writes there is no escape.

That's really cool. I'm just confused as to why you chose to end the relationship based on the place? Surely if you wanted to be together it wouldn't really matter where?

Very nice surprise that you pulled off there, I'm sure that he appreciated it.

Congrats on your engagement and I wish you both all the best.

My decision to end the relationship was because my partner took the step of moving to Spain without asking my opinion, it was a unilateral decision, where what I had to say was not important. As the months went by I felt that the love was growing and that the distance had strengthened the feelings.
Thank you very much for your visit and support, I send you a big hug!
