Hola amigos de @Humanitas, con agrado me uno para hacer mi aporte en la primer iniciativa de la naciente comunidad y así abordar el fascinante tema de las humanidades. Cuando leí las preguntas a que se hace referencia en el enunciado, no pude evitar recordar aquellos años 90, en los que se promovían las oleadas de bachilleres en ciencias y humanidades. Era algo cotidiano escuchar las pautas comerciales en las emisoras de radio, en las que se mencionaban los distintos colegios privados, que ofertaban estas especialidades del saber, que siempre llamaron mi atención.

Hello friends of @Humanitas, it is with pleasure that I join to make my contribution to the first initiative of the nascent community and thus address the fascinating topic of the humanities. When I read the questions referred to in the statement, I could not help but remember those 90's, when the waves of bachelors in sciences and humanities were promoted. It was a daily occurrence to listen to the commercial spots on the radio stations, in which the different private schools that offered these specialties of knowledge, which always caught my attention, were mentioned.

Aunque en mi caso estudié en la rama de las escuelas técnicas, las ciencias y humanidades eran un tema que me causaba curiosidad. Tenía amigos que estudiaban en esos colegios y conversaban ocasionalmente, de que debían estudiar para los exámenes de Filosofía, Historia Contemporánea, Francés y Latín ¡Vaya! Es lo que recuerdo sobre el tema y era algo que los chamos de aquellos años, quizás no estaban conscientes de su importancia. Con el pasar de los años, uno fue adquiriendo experiencias y se formó algún concepto de las cosas.

En base a esto, con respecto a la primera interrogante:

Although in my case I studied in the branch of technical schools, the sciences and humanities were a subject that made me curious. I had friends who studied in those schools and they would occasionally talk about what they had to study for the exams in Philosophy, Contemporary History, French and Latin... Wow! That's what I remember about the subject and it was something that the kids of those years, maybe they were not aware of its importance. As the years went by, one gained experience and formed some concept of things.

¿Qué son las humanidades para mí?

Diría que si hay estudios académicos sobre esto, es una ciencia; de hecho, históricamente hemos tenido maestros que se dedicaron al estudio del ser humano, de sus pensamientos y de todo aquello que nos diferencia del mundo animal; y que nos ubica en el pico de las especies que habitan nuestro hermoso planeta. Por consiguiente, aquellos grandes filósofos y pensadores nos dejaron luces para mirar el tema con mayor objetividad. La comprensión del ser humano es vital, para trazar la ruta hacia el desarrollo de un ecosistema de convivencia armónica.

¿Recuerdan la frase “Pienso, luego existo”? Esa es un breve prefacio a muchas respuestas.

También recuerdo un comentario de un profesor, hace bastante tiempo, en el que decía: El hombre que estuvo más cerca de representar la palabra “humano” fue Jesús de Nazaret, él nos enseñó el modelo seguir y es algo que aunque parece simple, es muy difícil de imitar, porque si a uno de nosotros nos golpean en la mejilla, no creo que le ofrezca la otra para recibir el otro golpe jajaja. Esa lección es inolvidable y gracias a este tema lo he recordado nuevamente.

What are the humanities for me?

I would say that if there are academic studies on this, it is a science; in fact, historically we have had teachers who dedicated themselves to the study of human beings, their thoughts and everything that differentiates us from the animal world; and that places us at the peak of the species that inhabit our beautiful planet. Therefore, those great philosophers and thinkers left us lights to look at the subject with greater objectivity. The understanding of the human being is vital to trace the path towards the development of an ecosystem of harmonious coexistence.

Do you remember the phrase "I think, therefore I am"? That is a brief preface to many answers.

I also remember a comment from a professor, quite some time ago, in which he said: The man who came closest to representing the word "human" was Jesus of Nazareth, he taught us the model to follow and it is something that although it seems simple, it is very difficult to imitate, because if one of us is hit on the cheek, I don't think I would offer the other one to receive the other blow hahaha. That lesson is unforgettable and thanks to this topic I have remembered it again.

¿Qué tan importantes son las humanidades?

Partiendo del concepto de que el ser humano es el centro del todo que lo rodea; y todo gira en torno a él, considero que las humanidades son la carta de presentación de cada persona. Esto se complementa con el conocimiento profundo del hombre, como concepto de creación para ejercer autoridad constructiva, sobre los elementos que le rodean en nuestro planeta. Con la finalidad de salvaguardar los recursos existentes y garantizar la continuidad del ser humano en el tiempo, pero de manera evolutiva, mejorando y cuidando su medio ambiente (creo que me inspiré jajaja).

How important are the humanities?

Starting from the concept that the human being is the center of everything that surrounds him; and everything revolves around him, I consider that humanities are the letter of introduction of each person. This is complemented with the deep knowledge of man, as a concept of creation to exercise constructive authority over the elements that surround him on our planet. With the purpose of safeguarding the existing resources and guaranteeing the continuity of the human being in time, but in an evolutionary way, improving and taking care of his environment (I think I was inspired hahaha).

¿Piensas que esta en era digital, hay lugar para las humanidades?

Por supuesto que sí, el detalle es el enfoque y la disponibilidad; es decir, crear cultura de autoconocimiento y utilizar la herramienta digital disponible para, crear conciencia en la persona que está detrás de una máquina. La era digital y todas las eras por venir, son manipuladas por el ser humano y debe ser dirigida para el desarrollo de un mundo mejor.

Do you think that in this digital era, there is a place for the humanities?

Of course there is, the detail is the approach and availability; that is, to create a culture of self-knowledge and use the digital tool available to create awareness in the person behind a machine. The digital era and all the eras to come, are manipulated by the human being and must be directed for the development of a better world.

¿Qué propuesta sugieres para promover las humanidades en Hive?

Esta iniciativa es un buen comienzo, igual sugiero mayor difusión entre los hivers, para ir creando una especie de convivencia que gire en torno al juego limpio y contenido original, dado que debemos promover un ecosistema sano que perdure en el tiempo, a la vez que se expanda en crecimiento y calidad. What proposal do you suggest to promote humanities in Hive?

This initiative is a good start, but I would also suggest further dissemination among hivers, to create a kind of coexistence that revolves around fair play and original content, since we must promote a healthy ecosystem that lasts over time, while expanding in growth and quality.
