Ring the bells, sound the alarms, hive learners weekly featured contents is one year old! Whoa! I didn't even know this initiative started last year, I wasn't active on hive when it started. Big thanks to the person(s) that came up with this, y'all have been a tremendous help to me and many other people on hive.

I resumed activities on hive last year after a one-year break and I discovered hive learners community a couple of months later. I immediately became interested and I thought it was just like every other community where I can just start publishing articles and interacting with other people until I saw the rules and realized I have to be a verified member which I quickly did.

From there, it has been a very awesome experience and I became more comfortable in the community as time went on. One thing I love about the community (also the thing we are celebrating) is the weekly featured contents which has saved me from one frequent problem a lot of us do come across sometimes: writer's block.

I no longer have to struggle to think about what topic to write on and I have come to heavily depend on the hive learners weekly featured contents which don't only give you a topic to write on but also a detailed explanation of what the topic is all about, it does make things a lot easier for many of us. And with that, I'm going to talk about my top 5 favorite topics

The worst traffic jam I have experienced (link)

Immediately I saw this topic prompt on that very day, I didn't even have to think twice about the worst traffic to talk about because I already have one in mind. In fact, the day the incident happened, I wrote about it on another blogging platform and called it "the worst day of my life" 😆 (it isn't, but close enough). Seeing hive learners asking about it also gave me another opportunity to rant.

In the article, I talked about how I spent over 5 hours on the road on my way to a company I was posted to and I was stuck in a traffic jam for over 2 hours with little to no movement, I even had breakfast in a public bus. And you know what's worse? I got stuck in another crazy traffic on my way back home! That day definitely had the worst traffic I have ever experienced, and it happened in Lagos 💀

The good and bad sides of chatting (link)

This topic was right up my alley and I didn't have any issues talking about it. We all know that it's not all topics on the hive learners weekly featured contents that we can relate to, there are some that we have to really think about before writing but some others don't even require many thoughts because we have had a lot of experience on them, this topic was one of them for me.

I love chatting and I prefer it to calling, so I have become very good at it over the years. This topic gave me the opportunity to give an honest review on chatting and I did a good job of drawing out the good and bad sides of chatting. It was a very interesting topic and I had lots of fun talking about it 😁

Another lockdown? I certainly won't mind (link)

This particular article was one of the featured winners during that week (or was it an honorable mention? I can't quite remember) and I was ecstatic when I realized it won because I poured my heart into it. I gave an honest opinion about how I won't mind if the world was to go into another lockdown just like what happened during the COVID-19 era because of what I achieved during the last lockdown but I also talked about the effects it will have on the world

My visit to the fictional world of DC (link)

This one was recent (earlier this year) and in it, I portrayed my nerdy side as I talked about fictional DC characters like Superman, Batman, and wonder woman. Back when I was a kid, I used to imagine a lot about being one of the justice league heroes and going on iconic battles with them, so that's exactly what I did in this article; wrote about saving the world together with the justice league 😁 it was very fun writing that story

My worst and favorite teachers (link)

And now for the last one, which many of you might recognize as one of the topics in last week's featured contents. After seeing the topic in the discord group, I took a trip down memory lane to my high school days and I reminisced about the good times I had with my friends back then while of course dishing out grades to my favorite and worst teachers. To me, this topic is the best in that last week's set, I enjoyed reading other people's entries and I even had a couple of "ah-ha! That teacher is similar to mine" moments 😆.

Conclusion

Whew! That was wild. I had to scroll down to the very first article I did on hive learners and started picking my favorites from there. Honestly, my earlier articles in this community weren't as fun as the latter ones because back then, I wasn't really relaxed and I had to tread softly so I won't break some rules I didn't know about and that affected my writing but look at me now cracking jokes in my articles and actually having fun 😁 thank you hive learners community for being supportive and accommodating.

Thanks for reading
