Decir que M3gan es un mal film, sería de lo más irresponsable debido a que sinceramente he visto cosas peores de las cuales ni siquiera gastaría mi tiempo compartiendo alguna opinión en referencia. Pero este film pese a su repetida idea superficial algo trillada, nos ofrece eventuales escenas y una esencia que nos permite disfrutar de la película.

A la vez, considero que los hechos positivos del film son más de peso que uno que otro detalle. Hay sin duda escenas épicas como la del perro que arrastra a la muñeca, la corrida en 4 patas en el bosque, el baile viralizado, la persistencia de atacar a pesar de ser cortada a mitad, son momentos de "climax cinéfilo"

Horror movies are always appealing to audiences for their contributed story development branch. Sometimes the story developed in a film is nothing more than a remastered copy of a previous one, but at the same time it takes advantage of bringing to light some stronger points. A couple of days ago I saw M3GAN, which is a horror movie that unsheaths charms of psychological horror, scrutinizing some current and not-so-current common human fears. On the other hand, being a doll we can always automatically relate it to Chucky, who was the initial doll in the movies that gave rise to the line of cursed or murderer dolls.

The film unfolds with the story of Cady, a girl of approximately eleven years old who is orphaned as a result of a car accident. In view of this, legal guardianship of the girl is given to her maternal aunt Gemma, who is not a mother and has a busy job as a toy designer. What happened with Cady is really very sad, she does not know how to overcome the death of her parents and at the same time, she now finds herself moved to a new place with her aunt who has not been someone as significant in the life of her On the other hand, Gemma feels somewhat frustrated because for her the priority is work and not exactly a family. Working in her workshop, inspired by a phrase from Cady, she creates M3GAN, a doll that uses Artificial Intelligence.

Gemma had solved two things at the same time, the doll was the ideal prototype that she had to raise in the office, while as for Cady it was something with which she could establish a bond. To carry out both purposes well, both the girl and the doll had to spend a lot of time together so that they both "connected". However, things get out of hand when the doll becomes Overprotective of Cady and for better or worse, this ends in running blood.

M3GAN goes crazy when Gemma realizes how cloudy the attachment relationship between the doll and the girl is. On that side, Cady even develops violence, feeling that she will be deprived of the attentive wrist of her who spends hours and hours with her, covering emotional deficiencies. Throughout the film, a trio of deaths unfold, but suspicious of the events, Gemma tries to "turn off" the doll from causing more damage and takes it to the company where she works. There M3GAN walks out on trial and murders other people on his way to get home to Cady's side. To release the tension I suppose, he even does a nice dance for us:

When the doll arrives at Gemma's house, she practically subdues it. Cady realizes what's going on and helps her aunt defeat M3gan. I won't tell you this scene explicitly like the others, because obviously Spoilers are not pleasant. haha 🤣.

The Good:

• It triggers a horror not based on blood everywhere like a regular horror movie. Rather, she chooses to resort to recreating scenes that slip away in fears such as losing your parents, being a mother by fate and facing the decision in the workplace. In addition to a prized toy going crazy.

• The details of dialogue, character development and careful scenes, make you enjoy a high-quality film. This, against the version of those horror movies that are not based on the solid creation of the characters. The scenes themselves are very clean.

The Bad:

• As captivating as M3gan's eyes are, we have to agree that the idea of killer dolls is pretty tired. We not only see it with the numerous Chucky saga, but also in films like Anabelle, El Títere, El Niño and others. What differs in each of them is that, M3gan suggests being with AI, and not exactly under demonic possession as we usually see.

• The incongruity of time. Ok, Gemma designs and creates this doll in one night, and the next day she seems to be dunked and fresh in hot springs, because she doesn't even get dark circles. It seems a bit incongruous to me, because honestly it's not a basic prototype, but a unique doll with so many things that you say: YAAAA... Impossible to be created in one night.
