Suddenly, the lights went out. Miranda was unprepared. She spread out her hand and tiptoed to the window. Looking out, it was a blackout. What?
Her fingers tingled. Fear crawled in. A wispy touch on her arm evoked a scream. The lights came on. She saw it was the curtains.
