A Family Gathering and a Coffee
A Family Gathering and a Coffee
Back again, fellow coffee lovers, after a harrowing week and the devastating double earthquake that struck our country, leaving us deeply saddened and heartbroken, we must carry on. This time, we made an informal visit to a nephew's house. Here, siblings, nephews, in-laws, and grandchildren gathered—a representation of every family connection. This chance encounter at such an emotional time was a happy one, allowing some of the family to catch up and check in on each other. As is our custom, after the usual greetings and rituals, we shared our experiences over sips of coffee.

A freshly brewed coffee with the typical tradition of the cloth bag, a custom in many homes, where modern machines fail to replace that old custom.

But regardless of how it's processed, coffee, with its flavor, texture, and color, provides us with a sense of well-being, and its unique aroma encourages conversation and family bonding; all the adrenaline we carry within us surfaces with every sip. Emotions and anxieties find an outlet, and it provides moments for reflection. I would say that this beloved and cherished beverage is so valued that it supports us through all of life's challenges, because all its elements contribute to giving us the vitality needed to face another day.

Today we celebrate a day of family life, enjoying and sharing, hoping these moments will help us escape the sometimes overwhelming daily routine. And amidst the pain and sadness, I pray that we will be reunited again, with another warm embrace.
