A Walk Through Them

My dear friends, today I went downtown to buy a few things. After walking around and passing by a few places, I arrived at the cats' favorite spot: the plazas, where they spend the day sleeping and basking in the sun to warm up. They are so charming that they sometimes exhibit very peculiar behaviors. Today I was surprised; I had imagined them very still and sleeping as they usually do to regain their energy.

Un Paseo Por Ellos

Mis queridos amigos, hoy fui al centro de la ciudad a comprar algunas cosas; luego de caminar y pasar por algunos sitios, llegué al lugar preferido de los mininos, las plazas, donde pasan el día durmiendo y se asolean para calentarse. Ellos son tan encantadores que algunas veces manifiestan conductas muy propias. Hoy me sorprendió; me los imaginaba muy quietos y durmiendo como habitualmente lo hacen para recuperar sus energías.

But this Saturday was special: they were bursting with charm, so playful and alert; perhaps I arrived just as they were finishing their long nap. When I arrived, they were in complete disarray, running around and sniffing, trying to find their caretakers. At certain times they wait for the various people who bring them food; they were all active, and I could see how happy they were.

Pero este día sabatino fue especial: estaban derrochando sus encantos, estaban muy juguetones y espabilados; quizás llegué justo cuando habían terminado su larga jornada de siesta. Cuando llegué, estaban en pleno desorden, correteando y olfateando, tratando de encontrar a sus cuidadores. A ciertas horas ellos esperan a las distintas personas que les llevan alimentos; todos estaban en actividad, podía notar el grado de bienestar en que se encontraban.

I love that feline nature of theirs because they're always unpredictable; sometimes they're aloof, and other times their gestures, like when they slip between your legs, inspire trust. I particularly love this moment because I feel like they're choosing you or are eager to receive special affection. I spent a lovely time with them and brought them some food; it was a very happy day for me.

Esa naturaleza felina me encanta porque siempre son impredecibles; se muestran huraños y otras veces sus gestos, cuando se deslizan entre las piernas, propician la confianza de las personas. A mí particularmente me encanta este momento porque siento que te escogen o están ansiosos de recibir un cariño especial. Pasé un buen rato con ellos y les llevé algo de comida; para mí fue un día muy feliz.
