Sushi with Flavor
Sushi, one of the most recognized dishes in Japanese gastronomy, is based on rice seasoned with vinegar and sugar. Although traditionally raw fish was used to accompany the rice, over time the ingredients have been increasing and now we can find from vegetables to cooked fish or meat. What we must take into account is to choose the best raw material, the rice should preferably be of japonica brand, we must wash it very well to remove excess starch, and cook it over medium heat for 12 minutes and during this time do not lift the lid, then let it cool and marinate with a little vinegar, sugar and salt.
Ingredients:
My son and I used the following: rice already prepared, as indicated in the previous paragraph, salmon, avocado and cheese all chopped into long pieces, Nori seaweed and a mat to roll or shape the sushi.
Preparation:
We place the mat, the seaweed with the shiny part down, then we extend the rice and place the salmon, avocado and cheese, to roll it up, it can be with the seaweed inside or if we want with the seaweed or nori outside. Then we chop and serve it with soy sauce. My son had more knowledge of how to make sushi, since he is used to visit the places where it is prepared and he likes to eat a lot of sushi, when he visits these places he is always full of knowledge asking how to make it, therefore, he was the main guide to make this dish.
Sushi with Flavor
To achieve this moment, patiently was buying some ingredients, and we decided one weekend to make them to accompany our lunch. In this case, it was a rehearsal for the first time that we do it, with time we will learn and put more effort in knowing the Japanese culture to honor its gastronomy.
In particular it was very tasty, despite the little knowledge I had, however, my son thought it lacked a little flavor and it is because it lacked a condiment called wassabi, which is generally used in sushi, this condiment has a smoky flavor and says it is very spicy. To place it in the sushi, it is mixed with soy sauce and the wasabi is placed between the rice, the fish (so that it does not lose its flavor) and the other pieces or ingredients, another way to place it would be on top or on the side of the sushi.
