Teresa's future.

It was the night of the full moon and Teresa hadn't made up her mind yet about embarking on the journey to see what the future had in store for her.

A few weeks ago, Teresa's friend advised her to visit a shaman after she complained about her life taking a terrible turn. She was one of the young script writers in town and had good clients but all of a sudden, they stopped patronising her.

When she noticed it, Teresa remembered her mom once told her that she wasn't destined to be what she was doing. Every time the word crossed her mind, she wished her mom was still alive .

Teresa expected the shaman to recite some incantations and just tell her what the future would like but it happened the other way around.

"I can't see your future young lady but I can help you. You will see everything with your eyes on the night of the full moon if you put this stone under your pillow"

Teresa had more questions but the shaman's place was creepy and she couldn't stay longer.

She stared at the stone on the night of the full moon while sitting on her bed.

"Do I really want to do this?" She asked herself several times and eventually chose to put the stone under her pillow.

Teresa gently placed her head on the pillow and fixed her eyes on the ceiling. She expected everything to play like a movie but nothing happened till she fell asleep.

Teresa barely slept for ten minutes before she found herself in a dark forest, she was running around in it without a clue of where she was going but getting out of there was the only thing on her mind.

"I have to see the future," she kept repeating the same word while seeking a way out of the forest.

After much struggle, she found herself standing outside the forest but there was nowhere to go from there. An endless glowing wall was standing in front of her and she didn't know what it was or what was on the other side.

Teresa tried pushing herself through the barrier but she couldn't. She placed her hands on the barrier and wept bitterly, everything she went through in the forest played in her and didn't want to go back in there.

She walked left and right hoping to reach the end of the wall but gave up after a while.

"I can't get through this," she thought and just sat at the wall hoping for a miracle.

"The barrier is not this wall, it's you," a voice said out of nowhere.

Teresa pondered over it for a while before trying to get through the wall again. She closed her eyes and slowly put her hands on the wall again.

There was a spark that made her scared and she found herself on the other side of the barrier.

"Yes, I did it". She said with so much excitement even though eyes were filled with tears.

Teresa raised her head and was shocked to see an empty vast land.

"This is not it, this can't be the future. Have I struggled so much in the forest just for this?" She knelt and screamed.

She sat at a spot and was crying bitterly.

"This can't be my future, I deserve better." She muttered.

Teresa was lost in thought when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned quickly and saw the shaman smiling at her.

She was dumbfounded and didn't know what to say or do. The shaman circled her thrice before sitting by her side.

"This could be anyone's future if they fail to push through challenges and make a life for themselves." The shaman said to Teresa and vanished in a twinkle of an eye.

Teresa turned left and right to see where she went but didn't see anything. She was thinking about what the shaman said when she opened her eyes in reality.

"Oh, thank God it was a dream" she muttered and got out of bed.

Teresa thought about the dream and cried for some minutes.

"It might be challenging now but there will definitely be a breakthrough, my future is in my hands." Teresa assured herself.

Hmm, the story is fascinating, I was expecting something terrible to happen in the dream or should I say I was expecting her to see a wild vision. Glad, it was all in the dream. I like this analogy, if we fail to plan then we plan to fail. Good story line

It was just a simple dream but she got the message clearly.

What an interesting and mystical journey. Teresa seems to know that there was much more to what she experienced than a typical dream.

She was able to interprete the dream easily because of what was troubling her mind and the visit to the shaman.

Teresa is initially lost, seeking answers from a shaman about her life taking a "terrible turn." This represents her aimless struggle and desire for an easy solution. Nice story thanks for sharing.

The dream was what she was going through and what she needed to do.

Good thing it was all a dream and she woke up knowing she has her future in her hands.

A very special trip Teresa made and through the dream she received the message she needed, the answer to her question. The future is in herself.
Beautiful story, I liked it.
Greetings @lara-bee

Reading this, I was just imagining every scene in my head especially the point where Teresa was dreaming, she was looking for a future where it is not, thank God she came to realize that the future is with her
