Christmas dress for my kitten Luna (ENG/ESP)

Last week, I mentioned that I was making Christmas pajamas for my three cats, so early this morning, after finishing my daily household chores, I looked through my fabric bags for scraps of microfiber fabric with a Christmas print to make Luna a beautiful dress with a frill and sleeves. This fabric is very soft and flexible, which gives my cats confidence and comfort when wearing their clothes.
It's no secret that cats are extremely curious, and they know when we're doing something for them. This time, I was completely convinced, since Luna was present throughout the entire process of making her dress. However, Meylín and Panda didn't pay much attention because they knew this outfit was for Luna, so they remained distracted by other things.
It's curious how wise animals are; they love to be appreciated, valued, and understood.

La semana pasada les comenté que estaba haciendo pijamas navideñas para mis tres gatos, así que esta mañana temprano, después de terminar mis tareas domésticas, busqué en mis bolsas de tela retazos de microfibra con estampado navideño para hacerle a Luna un hermoso vestido con volante y mangas. Esta tela es muy suave y flexible, lo que les da a mis gatos confianza y comodidad al usar su ropa.
No es ningún secreto que los gatos son extremadamente curiosos y saben cuándo hacemos algo por ellos. Esta vez, quedé completamente convencida, ya que Luna estuvo presente durante todo el proceso de confección de su vestido. Sin embargo, Meylín y Panda no le prestaron mucha atención porque sabían que este atuendo era para Luna, así que se distrajeron con otras cosas.

Here you can see Luna holding part of the fabric, her paws attentive to what I was going to do.
Since she was so calm, it wasn't difficult to take her measurements. I used a scrap of white fabric for the main piece of the dress, the bodice. It was very easy to cut a rectangle, fold it in half, and cut the armholes for the sleeves a little closer to the center of the chest, because of the position of her paws. Then I hand-sewed the piece closed.

Como estaba tan tranquila, no fue difícil tomarle las medidas. Usé un retazo de tela blanca para la pieza principal del vestido, el corpiño. Fue muy fácil cortar un rectángulo, doblarlo por la mitad y cortar las sisas de las mangas un poco más cerca del centro del pecho, debido a la posición de sus patas. Luego, cosí la pieza a mano para cerrarla.

I designed a bow-style collar for the dress, made of blue patterned fabric with snowmen and a white lining. At the same time, I took the opportunity to cut ribbons of red and blue patterned fabric for the ruffles on the skirt.
Initially, my idea was to make a sleeveless dress with ruffles, but then I decided it would look nicer with sleeves made of red patterned fabric.
Diseñé un cuello tipo lazo para el vestido, hecho con tela azul estampada con muñecos de nieve y forro blanco. Al mismo tiempo, aproveché para cortar cintas de tela roja y azul estampada para los volantes de la falda.
Al principio, mi idea era hacer un vestido sin mangas con volantes, pero luego decidí que quedaría mejor con mangas de tela roja estampada.
I gathered the ribbons for the ruffle, sewed them onto the dress, sewed on the sleeves, and the result was beautiful. I finished by adding a button in the center of the neckline, as requested by my daughter, who was so excited about our kitten's dress.
My motivation for making clothes for my kittens comes from the love I feel for them. I love seeing them curious and happy, as well as seeing my whole family excited as they watch these cats dressed up in their Christmas outfits. Isn't it lovely to see your cats like this? It inspires you to treat yourself by doing this lovely project and to pamper your cats by seeing them get excited about your ideas too. They're so adorable when they're involved in everything.
