Digital Drawing # 14 Watina (Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Metal)

Hello everyone! How are you? Hope you are all okay. Because me I've been sick for days now and I'm on my way to recovering. I was supposed to post this blog a few days ago and my body decided to shut down and got sick my blog waiting here for my draft to be posted. But now I'm feeling better now ready to post my arts again. I have a lot of WIPs I didn't finish all yet, having a cold and fever having them both is a pain in the ass. LOL

This is one of my favorite of all the prompts I created for this challenge. She looks like a queen warrior ready to destroy those who dare to attack her castle. And I love the way her expression is the aura of confidence. You know the feeling that I took more time searching for inspiration than making the art. That's the struggle of an artist like me sometimes but worth it.

For the sketching, I follow the flow and let my inspiration hit me. Bestie Pinterest helps me with the idea as always LOL. I did the sketching quickly so my concept will be executed based on what was in my mind that day.

I render the background first so I know where my lighting and shadow are for my OC. I'm still not used to rendering detailed background so bear with me. I usually just focus on portraits more. I'm still exploring LOL finding my art style is hard I guess it's fine still new to digital art. hihi. I still need to learn new every day.

Adding the base color seems to look awkward, well you know just trust the process it looks flat at first but it gets better any time soon. I tend to get distracted from the background so I hide it temporarily so I can focus on rendering the OC, I did her hair like it is flown by air because air is one of the elements needed to execute the art.

I added a trident for her weapon still deciding what design should I use. Added shadow to the body and to the tail too.

My favorite part I did is the way the water rise when she appeared underwater. And of course, we want an enemy to beat if there is a hero there is an enemy too.

Craken is the number one thing that pops out inside my mind when sea creature enemy because why not, I love Pirates of Caribbean.

Glad to see you back here. It's a smart move to do the background first. Even professional artists do it like that. This makes me want to do a one with background too hehe.

How did you add that horizontal lines on the blog? I saw many using it here. Where can I find that option?
