I Draw Guavas Using Oil Pastels

Hello, how are you? When I was a kid, we had a guava tree we climbed on and had snacks of it fruits. But for a weird reason, they removed it, and I miss the taste of it. Imagine you crave for guava and just grab one in your front yard, how cool is that LOL. The mango tree replaces the guava, but nothing beats the taste of guava, to be honest.
So I decided to draw one using oil pastel. I really love using my oil pastel lately, and that's the good of it.
Materials I Used:
- Oil Pastels
- Paper
- Tissue
- Scratching Tool
Draw Time!
Draw the line using a light green. Just be free with it.
And then I layer that line art with a medium shade of green to make it more blendable, and then I added the base colors.
Then I layer the base color with a mix of medium and darker shades to balance it.
I added red as the background color of the drawing.
Added more darker shades to make it more dimensional.
I like to add accent color to the drawing to make it more interesting, and then to finalize the guavas, I added the seeds. I use shades of yellow and layer them above the color below it. I mix red and orange shades for the background to make it not flat when looking at it.
Using my clay tool, I added a texture and highlight. I just scratched the drawing to remove some of the oil pastel.
I didn't go crazy with it, hehe, this is what it looks like close up.
Here is a drawing of a guava in oil pastel. Hope you like it.
