Recreating My Old Drawing From 9 Years Ago Pt.4

Hello, how are you? Last week it was hot as hell here, and then the weather suddenly got so cold to the point that I think it is cold season again, but it is not. I think summer took a break from the things happening in the world lately.

So I've been sleeping late lately, and to avoid wasting my time doomscrolling the internet, I decided to draw to help me fall asleep. It's my sleeping pill at night, and it's helped me a lot, to be honest.

Last time I drew Sehun from EXO, today I am going to draw his ex, I mean, his ex-bandmate Luhan. They're my bias from EXO before.

It has been years since I drew the reference, so it took me some time to find it online.

So first, I draw the proportion to make it easier to do the line art later. I use a 2B pencil to draw the line art, then layer it with the same pencil.

After that, I erased the sketches to keep the line art clean, then layered it with my 9B matte pencil.

Then, after that, I render the shadows with powdered charcoal and a brush, if I am impatient, I use my fingers instead, LOL. I always start with the face.

After that, I added powdered charcoal to the other part of the drawing.

I simultaneously go back and forth, using powdered charcoal to graphite pencil to achieve the tone I like.

Then, to lift the highlights, I use a retractable eraser, then an ordinary eraser.
