Sunflower In Vase Using Oil Pastels

Hello, how are you? I've never felt my head hurt today, so I decided to play with the oil pastels I bought earlier, and I wanted to draw a sunflower first as my first serious reference haha because why not? I love sunflowers.
So yeah, everybody is sleeping right now, and my body decided to draw late at night, and to be honest, the music gave me strength to do it, so yeah. I never thought that I would like the Paul Rubens more than the Mungyo, and I guess Mungyo is perfect for landscape drawing, so maybe in the future I will draw one again.
Materials I Used:
- Oil Pastels
- Paper 200gsm
Craft Time!
First, I draw the reference using shapes. That way, I can draw the exact proportion of the reference, and after that I layer it with its respective color.
I decided to draw the vase first. I don't know why, heheh, and then I started with the bottom part of the sunflower upward.
I like to start with the darkest to lightest because that is how oil pastels work, and I like to blend them using my fingers, which I guess hurts from blending too much LOL.
You know everything is going to plan when my hand has a lot of oil pastel smudges. You can never be clean when working on oil pastels haha.
Then, to relax my eyes from the sunflowers, I decide to draw the background, just my shadow part of it.
I am not going to forget the flower below the vase.
And then I finish it off with black on the darkest part of the reference to make it more dimensional.
Here is the close-up look. I decided not to do the scratching thing I always do LOL.
Here is the final drawing. I hope you like it! :D
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
