Taking Photos Of Tomatoes And Drawing It Using Oil Pastels

1.JPG

Hello, how are you? So I’m trying to process someone words to me and I guess I am just so sensitive that it hurts me so much. I just like to remove that negativity in me so. I tried to comfort myself by drawing art and no one will stop me from posting here LOL.

So, yeah back to the main topic it is so fascinating to see a tomato change its color from green to red. How cool is that? And I thought tomato grew red already but no. I have this idea to draw tomatoes from not ripe to ripe and I hope I did good.

Materials I Used:

  • Paper
  • Oil Pastel
  • Tissue
  • Scratching Tool

Time To Draw!

In oil pastel I like to use the complementary color of the color of the subject to do the line art. So I used light blue to do the job.

Add the base with light pressure to make it blend when I added a lot of layers to it. I like to start one by one tomato for this part but as the process goes by I might change my mind.

And then the second tomatoes I like to build the color and I love adding texture to it, so that is why I like using Crayola Oil Pastel because it creates this texture layer not like Pentel.

Using multiple color makes it more dimensional and not straight flat looking.

Trying to make the blue I used to complement to the drawings. So, I did layer it lightly.

And then I committed to it and color everything with blue I like to add just a little bit of violet or purple color to it and adding accent color to them.

For the highlights and texture I like to use my clay tool as my scratching tool and I learn it from my favorite oil pastel artist.

I did not do much to it because I get a little bit excited and I over do it sometimes and here are the close up look.

I hope you like it!

That's an interesting point you make. It's always nice to read that art or crafts can help clear your mind and get rid of those negative vibes that people can leave in us with their comments. I certainly want to congratulate you on creating such a beautiful drawing despite the circumstances. It's a great piece of work.
