Trying Something New And I Am Liking It. Sunflower In Oil Pastels

14.JPG

Hello, how are you? A few days ago, I ordered acrylic paint for the experiment I am going to try. When I say experiment, it means drawing or something hehe. Because some of the artist I saw online stain their canvas with this opera pink paint, and there is this uniqueness to it after they finish painting.

I wanted to try that on oil pastels too, but I wonder if I use my oil pastel to do the background first, the tendency is that it will smudge or blend during the process, and I will use a lot of it, so it is a waste of oil pastels.

If I failed the attempt, I research acrylics paints that are close to that color, and then I saw the brand I recently bought that they sell that shades of color I needed, so I decided to buy one. At first, I was doing the right thing, and then after I saw the result, I was amazed that I did this LOL.

Materials I Used:

  • 200 GSM Paper
  • Oil Pastels
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Squeegee
  • Tissue
  • Scratching Tool

Draw Time!

I painted the paper with magenta acrylic paint using a squeegee, and then I drew the line art of a sunflower.

I draw the vase first with violet and blue shades by drawing vertical lines to add the shades. And I added color to the flowers next.

I then colored the background with light blue, but not totally, to make the background color visible, and I like how it turned out. Then I drew the flower again and added shadows and shades.

Then just fixing some parts.

Finish it with black oil pastels but not too much.
