A Fun-Filled Getaway: The Sun, Sand, and the Beach with a Little Fire Dance All in One Weekend

It’s the perfect day to go out of town - the sky is blue, the weather is perfect, and really, the heat is on!

And, for those who are in Luzon area here in the Philippines, you already know that our best bet is going South, and that is nowhere than Batangas City.

This is the iconic Taal Volcano. The Philippines is blessed with 7,641 islands and 380 volcanoes with 25-28 active ones. And, Taal is one of those active volcanoes.

You might think that this picture looked like it was taken straight out from a postcard, picturesque and perfect, but this is just one of the numerous photos I took of Taal trying to really capture its beauty. But believe me, it’s better seeing this in person than in photos.

There are many things to explore in Batangas. It’s a home to numerous beaches in the Philippines. You’ll find it hard to decide which beach to go to first as there are a LOT.

As we continue with our weekend getaway, we stopped by this place to stay. Canyon Cove is one of the most visited hotel and resorts in Batangas. It’s always fully booked, so it’s best to book your rooms in advance.

We also did some island hopping in the morning that only took 3 hours to complete.

One of the best things in travelling here in the Philippines is that you’ll really feel close to nature that you don’t want to go back to your old routine. What with the blue waters and the blue skies, you’ll never run out of things to see and experience.

This is an early morning swim and snorkel in one of the islands. It was exactly 7:30 AM – indeed a perfect time to start your day. It was hard to go down the water at first. But once you get the hang of it, you no longer need assistance. 😊

If you go to this resort and spa by car, this is going to be your view.

If you travel by boat, the view is equally beautiful.

We ended our night with a sumptuous dinner by the beach. But what was surprising were the fire dancers who performed live. You could really feel the heat from the fire from where we’re seated.

It was a fun night, and you could see from everyone’s reactions how well we enjoyed the performance.

The performance was a 10 out of 10. These fire dancers could compete globally given their talent. That’s how good they are.

Oh! The smile on everyone’s faces while a fire dancer boldly performed a small fire demo closed to the audience. It was a bit scary, but fun!

Overall, it was a worthy and fun-filled weekend getaway. Another one for the books. Another one forever etched in our hearts and memories. 😊
