A Rice field Frog

Fejervarya cancrivora is the scientific name. It is also known as the marsh frog, rice-field frog, or crab-eating frog in English.This species lives in swamp areas like rice fields. It is a kind of predator. This frog has thick and strong legs, so some people consume the adult frog.
In the rainy season, the frog will make sounds. They will swim in the rainwater. Some birds, like herons, like to hunt this frog. The rice field frog usually hides under the grass. When it is disturbed, it will jump.
Snakes, eels, and some snake-headed fish like to eat this frog. When a snake is eating this frog, the frog will make a sound. The sound will be quiet after the snake swallows all the frog’s body.

When I was a kid, I liked to trap eels in the holes in the rice field. It is called eel fishing. I use a small frog as the bait. I put the bait in the eel hole. The eel would eat the bait. I should pull out the eel from the hole.

While I was walking around the rice field, I found this frog jumping on the grass. I tried to take some pictures. The rice field frog is different from the house frog. A house frog has a larger stomach.
