Stained cracked walls, the little garden, grasshoppers, butterflies and mantis hanging on different plants remind me so much of my late grandma's home. They say home is where the heart is and its true, even though she's no more, I still have vivid memories of what being in her house felt like, always filled with noise and laughter from her many grandkids. I miss it sometimes...

I wanted to illustrate my favourite place in the house which I loved especially when it rained or the sun was too hot to play in. Standing close to her window watching her little garden filled with all kinds of insects especially butterflies. I also remember seeing some cats on her fence especially at night...

When I saw this prompt, I had lots of ideas but wasn't really sure of them. Few days ago, I and my siblings had a discussion that reminded of this place so I did a rough sketch on a paper to be clear. Finishing the sketch on my computer was quite fast and I went straight to laying little colours on the walls and window.

I used some random brushes to paint the flowers, picking different colours as I progressed. After that I began to paint the girl, I added base colours to her skin, hair and clothes and made sure she was well positioned.

I added some more details on the wall, cracks, stains and a very bright light to signify a sunny day. I rendered her skin har and clothes after painting the facial features, the finally added more sunflowers and leaves to the plant.
