Remember I talked about a fanart I've been working on. Lately, i've actually been very slow when it comes to digital art and I hope to snap out of whatever this is soon. Nevertheless, I totally enjoyed doing this fanart for the @holozing game, its always fun coming up with my own ideas and just doing what I want with zero pressure.

Cheers to drawing more African hairstyles 💃🥂 I painted dreads and it wasn't bad at all, I just need to keep stacking up references for more practice. I hope one character would have such hairstyle, maybe a short style or something🤷 I made a lot of progress with this work today especially her hair then somewhere in-between my laptop went of without any low battery warning ⚠️ 😕

What do you do when this happens? Especially with unsaved files...

This happened to me once and I lost the whole work, like the file was there but Photoshop couldn't read it because something was broken so here's a tip..

If your laptop goes off without warning, charge it, turn it on and then restart twice before running Photoshop or any other program.

If you do this and run photoshop, you get a new file of your work with "recovered" attached to the name. This has saved me so many times and I hope it works for you...

PROCESS

Asides from her hair, I really love her clothes and other accessories. I love how peaceful she looks and this work really looks exactly how I wanted.
Painting over my sketches has been great experience for me because I basically skip the drawing part and just go straight to painting. I'll keep drawing my ideas in my sketchbook and sharing them as much as I can.

The first phase was basically picking and painting flat colours for the skin, hair, clothes and jewellery. Then I added all her facial features, I really enjoy drawing closed eyes too...
