Splinterlands Art Contest | Lord of Fire

Hello friends...
I haven't entered for this contest for a very long time and I've really missed it, doing fanart is always fun for me. We'll it's another round of the splinterlands contest and this is my submission...

The Lord of fire is the king of the fire demons who spends his time in his underlava Palace in the burning lands. He has the power to control fire and can easily burn his enemies from within. One thing that made me pick this card is the double eyes and horns, the character is simply amazing.

Process

This painting was done based on the sketch I made a few days ago, I've decided to draw my ideas on my sketchbook before painting them, that way I can save time and go straight to picking colours and just painting. I used the skin colour on the original character for her clothing, I picked a different colour for her skin and hair.

I then painted her cape with black and just detailed them before going straight to paint her facial features, this part wasn't really challenging and this made me happy because I haven't painted in a while and I didn't struggle with any part of this work. I painted her horn and added the black belt on her stomach area.

I began rendering her skiin, adding lighter and darker shades where necessary, I then painted her eyeballs and also drew and painted the upper eyes with different shades of green and she looked good. I added little details to her horns and belt too.

I added more strands to her hair, I really loved how her dress looked but I still added a little texture and more colours. I added little glow in some areas too.

I made some adjustments and ended up choosing a simple background and I really love the final work.
