Splinterlands Art Contest Week 209 - RUNEMANCER KYE

How are you? I hope your week is going as amazing as possible, welcome to another blog.....

It's another week and I bring you another post which is my participation for the splinterlands art contest. For this week, I chose a legendary card in the water unit; THE RUNEMANCER KYE.

KYE is a beautiful mermaid whole enjoys to spend her days in the sky and nights deep in the ocean waves. She learned to fight at a very young age and eventually became a very powerful sorceress. She is a born leader and pledged her life to defend her people from the threats of the Chaos legion.... Interesting!!

I'm really glad with how this piece came out, the colours, the clothing, jewellery and everything looks really good. This has to be one of my favourite 😍

PROCESS

I always start with a sketch, this red sketch on a black background is just perfect. I also found out that retaining the colours in the original work makes it quite easy and saves me a lot of time, I intend to keep doing this.... Adding base colours is quite easy, keeping the outer parts smooth ans nice is what really matter....

After adding the flat colours to the sketch, I started painting in the details and different design for her dress, hair and skin. This is an interesting phase because you get to see changes, very obvious changes...

Adding that glow to her face, hair and the background made her look more magical. My favorite thing about this art is her dress and eyes, adding little strands of pink to her lashes looked great for sure. What do you think?
