Hello hive-learners,

It's a beautiful Saturday morning and I trust you guys are doing well.

It's another great opportunity to partake in another exciting hive learner weekly prompt and today I'll be sharing with you guys the crime rate in my community and it effect on our nightlife.

Lagos is one of Africa's most busiest and exciting city to live in but just like every metropolitan has its fair share of security concerns Lagos is not left out as well.

Above all insecurities concerns, something that universal in the state is amazing bustling nightlife as there are bars that opens from morning till morning 24hours operation all year long. It's really crazy out here.

I happen to live in a budget friendly suburb in Lagos but the energy is the same with all lagosians, partying and celebrations is none stop😂.

However, there are serious presiding security challenges. This insecurities has of today as migrated from petty thief and rampant stealing of generator to high rate of kidnapping and cultist clash that leaves fear in the mind of habitants.

The growing crime rate has cast fear in the mind of people and has reduced drastically the nightlife jamboree of my beloved community and this has made the king and council of chiefs of my community decide to restrict movement in the community by setting a curfew between 10:00pm to 6:30am everyday and also assemble a team of traditional security guard name "IBILE" and task with duty of parading the community and arresting perpetrator even to extent of killing anyone that poses to be a threat to peaceful coexistence of the community.

The curfew has been on for the past 6 months but the challenge now is the fact that cultism seems to have find a way to survive and now even during the day cultist kill each other and hearing sound of gunshots is now the order of the day, it's has really turned to a pandemic.

Last week the state government made arrangements for soldiers to stand at every major turning point in the town to stop and search every road users that at some point we all have to come alight from our cars and bikes and walk for few distance at some check point.

This is the present situation of my community that has denied everyone the flex of nightlife to TV programmes. I hope this time we get back our peaceful and happy community so we don't have to live in fear any longer.

I 'm very sad to know about curfew due to high crime rate. Soldiers are best for security purposes but we should keep ourselves alarm for any type of activity. I hope, people will be able to see outside world by leaving TV room in Lagos, have a nice day man.

The cultism rate is going higher daily in Lagos and the reason is the involvement of Government officials making use of those guys against their opponents.

They would have been eradicated for a long time, but some communities are strengthening their security and dealing with any group that messes up.

One needs to be security cautious in Nigeria because no matter what happens, it's ones family that will bear the loss the government doesn't care about anyone.

So sorry for the curfew but it's for the community's gain, I hope things changed for good in your area
