Hello everyone,

I'm Sam and this is my entry post to the weekend community and I hope that I'll be able to contribute meaningfully as well as learn, unlearn and relearn from the great minds in this community.

Now on this week engagement concept, the topic that interest me the most is PERSONALITY.

In this article I'll be discussing what personality means to me and how my personality affect my life in general.
These are two important aspect of this week topic that we are going to be exploring in the paragraphs below and I hope it interest you.

                                WHAT IS PERSONALITY?

Personality to me is a description of an individual in totality that explain how and why we behave the way we do. Personality answers the question of who am I.
It is our personality that makes us distinct and stand out among billions of people in the world.

There are various factors that influence the personality of an individual and these are what comes together to form who a person is. From interest, emotional pattern, the way an individual speak, attitude, perspective, physical attributes, energy and orientations are all personality exhibitions that are influenced by these factors we are going to discuss below:

  • Gene: this are hereditary attributes that were inherited from our parent. For example our physical attributes like height, eye colour, skin colour, looks etc. And also, emotional pattern which explains how we react to situations around us.

  • Environment: this are personality traits we acquired by what we see/do in our immediate environment. These may include cultural values and morals, language, religion beliefs, school, work, home, peer group, etc.

  • Life Experiences: Life experiences and circumstances also plays a major role in shaping who we are. This include both good and bad moments in our lifes or in the life of our love ones.

HOW MY PERSONALITY AFFECT OR FIT INTO MY LIFE

As I've explained earlier that personality determines how we react and behave the way we do makes it evident that personality is a core determinant of how an individual life will pan out.

Below I'm going to describe my personality and how it fits into my life with five important aspect of my life.

  1. Lifestyle
My lifestyle has always been minimal. I don't really like extravagant or flashy items infact i don't like too much attention from people. I am a kind of guy who love to keep things simple and well organised. I am less materialistic too but i like quality things.

  2. Job
I've always love a career part that's more independent. I mean a job that I can easily do within company of few persons or none and I guess that's one of the reasons I took interest in my freelancing job. I'm also an certified educator and an hotelier.

  3. Socialising

Well I'm not an introvert but i don't like going to parties or social event too often. I guess that's even evident with my small circle of friends 😂. In Fact, my traditional wedding ceremony was deliberately very minimal with not more than 60 persons present which is something considered very unlikely especially from my ethnic (Yoruba) people as we are mostly known as party lovers.
I don't just like stress in anyway and going to parties or social events too often isn't what I know how to do best.

4.Interest and hobbies

I'm an ardent Real madrid supporter and a lover of football in general. I play football too. My favourite indoor sport is ludo and this I usually play with my wife.

5.Emotions and reaction
I'm not the kind of guy that's easily angered or scared, so often times this particular attitude has safed me some unnecessary confrontations or fights. I feel I gain this from my Dad as he's someone very calm and collected too.

Now how does this affect my life?

i. Reliability

Often times I have enjoyed some benefits from my calm and collected behaviour as this has made many see me as someone reliable and trustworthy enough to confide in with their top secrets.

ii. Emotional maturity

I've also been made head of teachers at a college I once worked with the proprietor sighting my emotional maturity as the major reasons for the decision. He state that I'm always relax and very thoughtful too and also very patient to listen to other people opinions.

iii. Clarity of mind

Personally i feel this is my biggest win. No matter the pressure I've always strive to have a clear mind so as to make the right decisions and it's been working for me so far.

This is my take on personality and how it fits in to my life.

Hey there!
Good take on personality.
I'm happy that you decided to cut back on guests for your wedding despite the tradition of your Yoruba tribe of having large functions. I did the same. In Jamaica, it's customary to have massive weddings and invite close and distant relatives, friends, acquaintances, neighbours or the entire village. I planned to be just my husband and I, but it ended up being 12 people in the end. I don't think it has anything to do with introverts or not, your wedding day should be for you. Some things are just senseless.

BTW, no one could beat me at Ludo when I was a child. It was my favourite board game.😁

I'm pleased to see you wearing the jersey of the football team that you support, and I'm happy that you're not a Man U fan, but why Real Madrid?

Interesting 😀

Leicester will rise again and I hope very soon too.

If you guys can come back quickly it will be as if you never went there but then enjoy your sabbatical season 😁

I could not have said that better.✅
I've learned over the years never to give up on Leicester. I was a season ticket holder 15 years ago and I watched them lose game after game...then the unexpected happened.
I have all the confidence in the world that they will be back on top someday...it's Leicester 😆
