Good evening creatives.

I trust we are all doing great. It's good to be here again and tonight we would continue with our series on "meeting the artist" and tonight's spotlight would still be on our last discussed artist,Mr Victor, and before we go into the art piece for tonight,I would like to add a few things to what we said about the artist last time.
Mr Victor is a contemporary Nigerian visual artist whose works centre on people from various walks of life, with a focus on people from uncoventional backgrounds, parts of the society that aren't really seen in the open or that are usually neglected and his paintings depicts this paradigm which he sustains and also he likes to make his paintings as symbolic as possible.
The title of this painting of his is ,"Conceal",the first on the series of three paintings titled,"Cloak".It's done in oil.The painting captures a young man and a lady covered in a cloak, symbolic of how many people conceal many attributes of theirs that they feel the society would castigate them for, many of which are not their fault. Many times,in a bid to have a sense of belonging with societal norms, many alter their natural attributes and conceal what they would not have the society know about them and many times, that isn't really the best way to solve these problems.
"Conceal" is a timely piece that highlights on these societal issues.

I'll stop here for now.

Here are progress shots from the painting and also this painting is available and up for sale.
