A Bar-B-Q Night // Joining The Old Friends Again!

Hello OCD,

Warm greetings to all. Welcoming everyone here in my blog in this new weekend that we have entered. In this part of the world where I live has a different weather than the other continents. Winter has gone away as the dates of the calendar moved on to a new season. It is spring that has fallen on the roads, bridges, trees and everywhere. Everything changes with time and so as the weather.

Winter has been a special season for me living in the oriental part here and so as the nights of it. Occasionally in this particular season , it is pretty enjoyable to have time in hand, moving to and fro, setting for a new journey and arranging a trip, an outing to a nearby place where nature has a certain beauty to offer - These things make meaning in life.

Going to a place where there is love attached and the people around you have a certain welcome tone to offer to you, that is an unique experience. I had my busy schedule and I was planning to attend a seminar near my town. A special workshop teaching about the way life should be handled if critical period comes and some psychological suggestions to learn and adopt while handling those tough moments. I returned home early in that day and checked my mail-list and a message seemed as to knock my ear.

Cring..Cring...The bell of the notification rung and I saw a special invitation card suggested me to have some attention and allocate my busy times to a programme arranged by the local member of the community I left out few years ago. It was bit of a club type and a non profit organisation that helps rural and under-privileged people have their aids and assistance to be delivered at the crucial time when they need it.

Bit of social help rendering to them, delivering goods, food items, incentives and basic medicines to them so that they could survive in midst of cruelty of nature.

I was very proud to be a part of the club and the part time programme arranged by them. It was a great feeling, when I used to attend their programme right at the weekend days of months time. When they called me back I moved fast to them, got on the train and a commute one which travelled to 50 miles to the south and I onboarded onto a bus that took me to where I wanted to reach. Being a bit late held me to feel something hesitant, but they cordially welcomed me by then.

The night was becoming deeper and I some moistures of dew fell on the grass, the fog was succinct and wasnt bothering the whole working procedure. They became so happy to see me back after a long time, I was like disappeared for a while and it looked as they missed me a lot.

Hours went by gossiping about the old days and how remarkable colourful and vibrant those days were. We were at one and despite having age differences and social classes, distinct from each other - an uneasy balance of superior to inferior, these gaps never seemed as to bother the sweet relationship of social bonding and it grew deeper right till the ends time of our departure.

Amm.. The sweet fragrance of baked meats seemed to tickle my nose and I was feeling hungry to have them as the staple food for the supper and what else could be more delicious and pleasant a dish to be enjoyed while staying pinpoint with those guys I missed a lot? I was in a mood to remember, that there were so many restaurants I came by and had snacks, lunches and dinner - quite time to time. Some of the meals were haste and I ate super fast to be busy in holding the corporate building, attending important university sessions and meeting with professors.

There were line attached to enjoyment and I really realized that, its not the most of the expensively decorated dishes that become special, but the touches of cordiality, the groups of people you are sharing the dish with, the weather and nature etc. These things make your supper or meal a special one to remember. To me the meal wasnt special for the ingredients it was attached, but more of the special programme and arrangement -- the prime attraction.

Time flew on and nearly a week passed, I bade them a good bye and moved on again to the fastly growing city and reached to where I used to belong. Entered again to the heart of the country, busy in finding more growth in midst of chaos, millions of people and weal and woes.

Thank You.

Hello @leophile. I see you're new on Hive, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Daily Blog community.

OCD community is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse. Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
