Don't Lose Your Head

A while back I posted about the crossroads I had arrived at with this particular painting.

Two Heads are Better than One... or is it?

Now you can see the decision I made when you compare it with this photo.

Two Heads?

I think my final choice makes for a more dramatic pose and scene, something more violent.

With that decision executed, I can now move onto bringing some refinement to the painting. There are still of course some very rough areas that need to be resolved, but I'll get to those in due course.

This is definitely a good decision, but very close to the Caravaggio Holofernes :) I guess it's your intention?

Yes indeed, it was my intent to do a study of Caravaggio's "Holofernes", but I wanted to change a few things. The theme has been painted a few other artists. Have you ever seen Artemisia Gentileschi's version? It is much more brutal.

"With that decision executed" wasn't enough to behead the poor guy you have to kill the decisions too XD

I think it would look great whichever way you do it but I'm glad you've come to a decision you're happy with :D
