First of all I am super happy and it is a real pleasure to participate in this Contest of the Ladies of Hive #84 community, until now I had not made my estrada because in my country Venezuela we have serious problems with electricity and of course the internet, but that was not an impediment to approach you and answer the first question.

What was your position (in terms of birth) in the family? How did that experience help you to become a successful adult or did it prevent you from becoming a successful adult?

I am the one in the middle, popularly the one with the sandwich, although what they say about the middle child doesn't apply to me...

I was always a quiet girl, I love to study and read, I tried to get good grades for my own satisfaction and to earn some permission.

I am grateful to my parents for instilling good values in me, although sometimes a little macho but still grateful.
I went to work since I was 14 years old; I was a nanny and some weekends my older sister would take me to her house to help her clean the house, do the laundry or help her with my nephews and nieces and she would pay me for it.

I remember when I was in my last year at school and we started to meet more often with my friends (almost every weekend) hehehe 😁 once my best friend went to pick me up at home and my dad did not even wait for me to go out to say hello or anything; once he said: "She's not going" and I started to cry and I was very angry, but then I passed and continued with my life of "submissive" as they say to young people and teenagers who did not let me go out.

Although my dad had a super strong character and was of few words, few hugs, I still love him and I will love him and I thank God for having rewarded me that way.
A little over 20 years ago he is no longer on this plane but his memory is still intact ☹️ Ok here I am crying....

I always respected my parents and sometimes if they told me not to go, I didn't go, I knew I didn't want to be like my older sisters who often ran away to go to parties, but I never did.
I wanted to study, graduate, study at the university although for my father that was a waste of time, he wanted me to just work and that was it; but no, I entered the university and for my life experience, my father died naturally a few months later, it was the biggest pain of my life.
Even so I continued and managed to graduate with much sacrifice, I was the only one in my house that has a college degree.

Hello @leslieq78. You have a lovely family. So you were in the middle. And you went to work at 14. You were very studious. I can see how working hard at your education paid off for you. Even when our parents are very stern, they are still our parents. We love them and miss them when they are no longer with us.

Thanks so much for sharing your story. Have a good weekend.
