So this week I had an "idea"...
I wanted to do something with the Pepper Plants. I figured it would be a good change - and I liked the way they looked!

At this point I am working on getting a better look out of the eyes,
Here I finished the Eyes, and added some Red,
Finally done with Smoothing, Reflections, and a Mild Vignette!

It was such a beautiful day today @lesmann 😁
So much to discover and see, Paris is growing on me. Discovered more of the beaten tracks today. And went to a touristy are to see the Sacre Coeur. Beautiful… but just tooooo touristy. So we went quickly off the beaten track again hehehe 🤭 away from the masses. Lol
Had some columbian food this evening. Everybody in the restaurant was speaking Spanish. So a well come break from trying to communicate French hahaha 🤣 funny but cool…

We are back home, arrived all safely and sound. ✈️ It was a late flight and than it got delayed too… so we didn’t arrive home before 1am the next “morning” hehehe 🤭 tiring to say the least. But the drive back was better during the night as less traffic and tourists that don’t know were to go hahaha 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yes, it was great to observe. Everywhere we went. You could see it and feel it in the energy of people.
Yep I know exactly what you mean. And that is why we only did 3 touristy locations. The Eiffel Tower, champs Elysees and the Sacre Coeur. Every where else we went far far far away from the tourists. Days we didn’t see any. So we were not surrounded by their “made up world” to please the tourists.
We saw the true “Paris”
To bad it is over already… our days there. As the city grew on me.
Even the locals, they were so friendly. Not touristy friendly… like they wanted something.
Nope… sitting on a terrace and a local starts talking to you. Really interested about our visit there off the beaten track. We talked for 2 hours hahaha 🤣 about everything… making the world right hehehe 🤭
Than, while sitting somewhere, locals walking by and really greeting you. Than saying have a wonderful day etc.
can you imagine we were hesitant in the beginning. As we are not used to that anymore. People being polite, friendly and sincere. We thought first they want something. But they didn’t… just a friendly warm greet on their way pass. 😃😎👋🏻☀️
It amazed us so much… we are so not used to that in Spain or the UK or the Netherlands.
It made our stay rather special. As it happened daily. 🤩😎☀️💃🏻👋🏻 And the locals were also polite. Another thing that jumped out. 🤩
The cappuccinos in France were for sure better than the ones in a cafe here in Spain, but equally good as the ones I make at home 😉😁☕️☕️ Hehehe 🤭

You could see what they are really like and that is a good thing. Tourist trap people are only interested in how to get you to spend money. Your cultural concerns are very secondary to them...🤔
It is funny though, that You mention even friendlier than The Netherlands. I found The Netherlands to be the friendliest place I ever was. Well also the whole Benelux Area.. Of course... People tend to "act" very friendly if they know your an American Soldier, or agent thereof...
But honestly, in The Netherlands people out of the blue told me when I was paying too much for parking. Played late night movies on the sides of buildings so everyone could see.. Really, Really Cool, what Your not going to find here...

Yes, the Dutch people are very helpful and think about their neighbours. But this sooooo depends on the area you are in. They are good at talking behind your back and pretending. You never see who they really are in their homes, they have multiple masks for different occasions. I lived in the Netherlands for 28 years of my life… and it changed so much. Not for the good though. Not sure if I could life there anymore. I probably choose somewhere else first.
The French were really great, and it was strange at first as we were not used to it. At the end it was just cool to greet others and spread some friendliness 😊💃🏻🎉
Back in Spain, people are pushy again, don’t have room walking by. In France everybody makes sure everybody on a pavement has space. In Spain… nope, they rather bump into you than move a little, even though they have space on their side.
It is rather a contrast, being back now. And it so adds to our list why we want to move out hahaha 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yes, and people always will be different for government personal, military and police… in most countries.
But in the Netherlands it is strange, they don’t care about the police. And go into full fights and discussions with them. As they are not carrying or able to do something back. So some people just laugh in their face and walk on. When stopped by them. I have seen this many times.
Here in Spain they are afraid for them. Such a difference again. As they are rather brutal and hard.
US is a whole other story….
The thing you see and encounter when you live in another country. But it gives you multiple views… about differences. 🤓
The home equivalent is a sachet of powder… perfectly balanced. You just poor hot water in it after boiling it 🤭😉 hehehe lol but still it is great. Easy for home use. For sure don’t have any fancy coffee machine hahaha lol not needed and just adds up to more belongings. We need to reduce our stuff…

The "Two Faced" European, I myself have known a few. But The Dutch did seem far less so than Germans. And like You said, since the Police respect is low, they may not care. Or the working for U.S. (or being American for that matter), may also come into play....🤔

Americans are probably - Especially in the New Jersey / North East pretty rude. It was another reason I got away from there when I landed. Though I will admit that after this, I would rather have someone be rude to my face than plot behind my back.

Yeah I actually bought a Mr. Coffee, nice machine.. My roommates began using it for an island to set things on. Well for a few months I kept taking things off the top and telling them - if it gets broke, your buying...
Well I figured out the fatter one was playing a game with me so... I just said screw it! Then the other one bought a French Press and started making Coffee with that..
Well that Coffee could only be described as "dirty water",
So I went to instant..

I think here the.bkending in ball game probably works better than anyplace in the States. Because every American that is into this kind of stuff is and has been coming here.

Once I applied for a job, it required being "bi-lingual"...
So I go to the interview, all is good - so she asks me about my Spanish.. I tell her beyond a few words I cannot speak it...
She says the job requires a bi-lingual person, I told her I speak English & German.,. She looked at me like I have a problem and asked me to leave...😂🤣😂
She said I was "not" bi-lingual, though I pointed out reading the job information I was qualified. Bi-lingual does not mean Spanish it means two languages...🤣🤣🤣

Actually another funny story there..
The 300lbs (or close) roommate decided to rescue a kitten one day. I told her I am not against, keep in mind that once you do this, it's kinda permanent. I say this because these two like to get the ball rolling and "hand-off" to someone else...
Anyways after awhile one day she says "she's tired of feeding the fucking Cats"... So I have been since then, and litter, drops, etc... Lately she has bought a few bags of food...
But yeah, I try to get away whenever possible for whatever reason - and mostly end up somewhere in a natural environment.
I don't think I am catching anything.. Just heat and not eating right with lots of my mind.. You Know how it is..😏

I would like to have some pets. But not now as I so understand the responsibility of it. I know we move a few more times, first abroad, than a rental until we find the perfect fixer upper… and we want to travel places now we still can. A pet or any animal just won’t work for us yet. One day… but not now. Even if it would be never… all fine 😁🤓 it is a huge responsibility. 🤓

I am on the lower end of that as I just can’t drink much in a day. But never had… won’t reach a litre water.

I once had half of my face paralysed for 8 longgggg months. I couldn’t even close one of my eyes. So needed to drip it and put crème in there at night. This caused my eye sight to go down a bit… when I was about 21 years. (Bell’s palsy) it wasn’t funny, got many tests back than, and they never found anything… so must have been stress.

To be honest, when I first got here.... I was Bull Shitted into the idea that in some way Mexicans are bad and You don't want anything to do with them..🤔
Funny as I came here to blend in with them, but as an ex Soldier I was a person who was thinking U.S. is U.S., why are these people insisting on Spanish?
Well there were things I didn't know, and in a way this mentality cost me..... A lot! 🤔😮😯
I think unless you have a boatload of money or are crazy nobody should come here...
True some things are cheaper.. However that has its price as well...
If I was already in California I would make it work. The cultural change is "HUGE"! For example it's oK to carry around guns here if your over 18.. And a lot of other backwards things as well. Of course it is possible to make it work, but as free as it is - it's not that free. Yeah. If you want a gun and insult certain people on the streets - it's free, but not much beyond that. Also you do have personal rights other states don't think about.. Like no COVID Shots, only if you want. Land is cheap - free, Yep "FREE" down by the boarder as long as you make improvements. And still... ☹️☹️☹️
And always getting worse as the worse are flocking here - based in dreams and mis-information!

I worked for some Schwab's straight from Stuttgart, close to where I lived. At first they were OK... Then they found out that if you like you can insult or whatever certain people here...
They took this all the way! And yep in typical fashion friendly at first and then nasty as possible. In my case worse because they could also give me crap in German...
And when I quit they begged me to stay...ha ha ha!🤣🤣🤣
They have since moved their business into the City of Corpus Christi and out of the islands....
Also funny, there was this American guy who worked with us, he was a Church person trying to get a job that didn't go against his beliefs - so a German Bakery seemed natural...
You should have seen this guy after awhile, and he could not believe they were like this either. They even did a video chat back to Stuttgart to show everyone how nice they are to Americans....🤣😂🤣

Treating animals bad, or careless (any) makes Me so mad I could hit people! Literally! They also did this with a dog before... When he got grown they found someone to take him to their property and make him a barn dog - after being raised totally different..😥😢😥

Luckily I didn’t have an infection. The drips and crème were for this, so my eye didn’t dry out as I couldn’t close it. Nothing worked muscle and nerve way. I never had any pain. Just think of it like this. From the top of my face all the way down… to my neck. Half of my face was paralysed. All the muscles and nerves were NOT working anymore. Crazy stuff… still when I’m tired or sneeze you see some of the muscles and nerves had some damage. It never fully recovered from the paralysis. My eye sight went so much down over the years after that I’m with both eyes on -5. So I wear lenses now but will go to glasses as, as we get older eyes get dryer and lenses less comfortable hahaha 😜 another thing that happens growing older.
