Wednesday Walk: "Another trip to Cole Park"!

Hello Friends, and thank you for your visit!

It is #wednesdaywalk #27 of 2026, and the second one for July and I decided to visit the Park downtown.
But first I want to thank @tattoodjay for this community - #wednesdaywalk ,
"Thank You"!

So it was still pretty "warm" this afternoon so I thought it might be nice to go downtown - because of taking the vehicle. If it got warm I could get back inside and cool off! But that was thankfully not necessary!

So on to the Park!
First is this sign which gives the daily hours of the Pier,

And this one that gives the history (?) of the Pier,

(mostly true - as with many of these signs here I'm afraid the history is not accurate).
This is a look at the end of the Pier, quite a few people out there today,

And a look up the side,

This is the Pavilion from the water side for a change, covered in canvas for shade,

This is the Holiday Inn (lighter building), and a part of the Hospital complex (darker buildings),

This is the Holiday Inn, I tried to get a good photo of the waves coming in - but I missed the good ones everytime and finally gave up!

And the Corpus Christi downtown and banking district,

This is a look across the bay at Portland TX., it is faint - but I had to try!

After that I walked up on the lawn area of the Park and found some "things" I never saw before,
"Play Statues" - for lack of a better word.
The first one that caught my eye was this Dolphin,

And then I saw this Turtle,

These two were a little closer together but turning around I found this Whale as well,

Walking around them I had to take another Dolphin photo,

And this is how they look spread out on the lawn,

And then I took a warm 94°F / 34.44°C walk back to the car and did turn up the A/C!
And so that was my #wednesdaywalk this week,
