"Trapped in the Hat Man's Nightmare"

In silent nights, in my scared childhood,
a man with a black hat, my dream visited.
Hidden in the closet of my room with dark and cold shadows,
His cursed laugh destroyed my peace.

He approached stealthily, leaning over the bed,
his eyes hidden under the brim of his mysterious hat.

Helpless, he remained silent and afraid,
without being able to move or scream, a fear without remedy.
The man with the hat wove whispers in the mist,
incomprehensible words, a torment that consumed my soul.

What do you want, intruder, that you are in my dream?
Why disturb me, at such a young age?

One night, I decided to face him,
open the closet wide,
The man with the hat was revealed,
a haggard face, his unforgiving gaze.

A gloomy destiny revealed to me,
a man caught in a late dream.
Unable to find peace after his departure,
He sought release from his lost sentence.

I felt compassion for the man with the hat and, with a gesture of kindness,
I told him you are now free...

From that day on, the nightmares stopped,
the man in the closet, his sorrow left behind.
My childhood and its fear, in time they disappeared,
and in my memory, a lesson was recorded.

Let us not fear dreams, the unknown,
In the darkest, a meaning is hidden.
The man with the hat, my nightmare was,
but in their relationship, I found the wisdom of faith.

@jpiekiel Thank you for reading me, a story that for years took over my childhood of my existence... because of my fears of facing the fear of many things. Nowadays many have been surpassed, at least the man with the hat really disappeared from the closet and from my nightmares.

Facing fears is a way to free ourselves and here you illustrate with poetry that frustrating process for many in life. Greetings.
